It's unfortunate that a member of the Baltimore City Fire Department has been allegedly charged and is facing these allegations, said Kevin Cartwright, chief public information officer for the city's Board of Fire Commissioners.
Suspended city firefighter Jerry Majette claims a man who is in the process of becoming a woman attacked him with a hammer and demanded money.
Tamera King, a transgender person--also arrested for assault.
"Mr. Majette had hit the other party in the head with a hammer and the other party also had taken a pair of scissors and tried to assault Mr. Majette," said Lt. Rob McCullough.
Another neighbor says that King knocked on his door for help. He says he saw her shirtless, covering her breasts and bleeding. He also said he saw the firefighter standing over her with a hammer in his hand.
The firefighter initially told police he was just trying to help the woman when he was robbed, but he declined to explain why her online personal ad seeking sex was on his internet history.
King told police she posted an ad on Craigslist identifying herself as transgender, implying Majette shouldn't have been surprised when they undressed.
Majette was convicted of misdemeanor assault and battery in the mid-90s. More serious charges, including assault with the intent to murder, were dropped.
So city firefighter Jerry Majette met this woman online and knew she was transsexual.
Majette hit her in the head with a hammer and the trans woman attempted to defend herself with a pair of scissors,(which she did not strike Majette with) but yet Miss Tamera King was also arrested for assault????
Stonewalled: Police Abuse and Misconduct Against Lesbian, Gay and Transgender People in the U.S.
A gay Filipino man was reportedly beaten on several occasions by his partner, a white U.S. citizen, who was reportedly addicted to drugs and alcohol. When police responded to one altercation, they reportedly arrested the Filipino man and threatened to report him to immigration authorities, saying: "You're not a citizen. We should deport you, you shouldn't be hitting Americans; you're not an American." The Filipino man was sentenced to 52 weeks of batterer's intervention in court.
Fear of Reporting Crimes
Reports to AI indicate that LGBT people often do not report crimes against them, in particular hate crimes and domestic violence, because they are reluctant to reveal their sexual orientation or gender identity to responding officers, and because they fear homophobic or transphobic treatment at the hands of police officers. Reportedly, reluctance to contact the police is particularly pronounced among transgender women.

I don't know exactly what can be done about this kind of thing happening. If a trans/homophobic cop just doesn't care what happens to us, what are we going to do about it? These males who do these kinds of things follow a pattern, First the desire to have edgy sex with someone who isn't quite male
allows the male a plausible out, He/she"fooled" me and so I beat her head in with my hammer. Then they find a "Gurl" on Craigslist, but they never seem to realise, one's computer is the first place the cops look.(Note Angie____ and Allen Andrade in Colorado. The cops went right to Andrade's computer and found over a hundred e-mails back and forth.) They don't just meet! With all the publicity these cases receive, one would think that the word would get out the you cannot kill or attempt to kill a transexual. The courts aren't acccepting the "Panic" defense any longer. At least, she wasn't killed, thank God!

First of all it was not a she,, it was a man wanting to be a she.
And at least he/firefighter was not killed. because on the other side of those sizzors was a man .
and a good hit from a hammer can end your life just as fast as a good strik from a pair of sizzors.
the only people who know what happen was them, it human against human. nd thank god neither one got killed.
