So she left the UMC because they passed a resolution banning gay marriage and because she "felt" a call to start a church, according to the article, in the UCC, Obama's "God damn America" church. That was her choice. However, as usual, there is not one hint of scripture to support the UCC positions. Her clearest reason is not scriptural, but she "felt" a call. That is not scriptural either.(Nowhere do prophets or apostles etc. enter a ministry because they "felt" like it.)

It gets old seeing all these leaders who see a whole new meaning to the Bible.
One that allows these people to justify, in their own minds, an anything goes kind of teaching.
How about slowing down the gay lesbian "leaders" and it may become easier to teach what scripture really says.

Blasphemous lies. Why you swallow the racist trash about Jeremiah Wright, you IGNORE that in fact the positions of the UCC are ENTIRELY in line with the thinking of Jesus Christ.

It's also the vilest of LIES to claim that ministers aren't called to service, of course they ARE, they're called by God, to slur God by claiming this is nothing more than "they felt like it" shows you truly don't get it.

It's an outright lie to claim their teaching is "anything goes." The POLAR OPPOSITE is true. They're teaching what Jesus taught, that "love your neighbor, no exceptions" is God's law.

And it's outright blasphemy to put the word leaders in quotation marks, this is a person God CHOSE for the ministry, and you attacking them because of human bigotry says you think you know better than God who should and shouldn't be a leader.

So, how many stonings have YOU participated in?

"Obey the written word" is nowhere close to what obeying God OR being a Christian is about.

Well fella you can't re-write the Bible or history so stop trying. No matter how much you kick and scream it just isn't going to happen.
The world is not gay and lesbian. It is a few perverted souls lost in the wilderness never to return.

Not in your new version of the Bible.
You need to chill and think before you spew this crap. Everyone knows what you are so stop the act.

Oh, YES! In every version of the Bible, new and old.

The Teachings of Christ Jesus are clear. There is no rejection of homosexuality to be found in His words.

YOU are the one spewing crap.

Everyone knows that Oke is a Human Being who regularly stands for human dignity and who is consistently one who eschews fundamentalist hypocrisy and bigoted hatreds held by people who refuse to understand others.

It is no act. It is who he is.

The fact that you call his Christ-inspired integrity an "act" is your own professed proof exhibited to everyone that YOU do not, cannot, presently, understand.

You have cause to worry because of your sorry attitude and repugnant behavior toward people you neither know nor understand. But, don't worry too much. The Master Lumberjack is making His way toward you through the forest. When He gets to you, He will mercifully cut the sequoia out of your eye.

Let's hope you survive long enough for Him to reach you. In the meantime, you might want to start cutting away the things within yourself that are preventing you from moving toward Him, on your own. It will show good faith and it will make the ocular surgery you need much easier to conduct.

UnRev, is this another of your girl/boy friends???
These rabid posts defending someone else is getting a little old. Usually these poster can defend themselves you know.

"12. The White Knight
If the White Knight thinks someone hurts someone’s feelings, he’ll put on his shiny armor and joust for honor and goodness … even if the “attacked” person tells him to shut up."

The only difference is I would call you the "Dark Knight".

You know him personally?

Or are you simply assuming, based on your own ingrained biases and judgmental nature?

If there was only one way to interpret the Bible, there wouldn't be 1000 denominations, would there?

Look around you fool, perverts are constantly preaching. You are a part of the problem not part of the cure.
Can you prove that "this person is" not?
