The vote for Amendment 1 in Gainesville is happening today. I call for the honest and fair minded people there to repudiate the cynical and hateful attempt by the right wing radicals of that city along with their out of state handlers, the Thomas More Law Center, trying to roll back anti-discrimination law to what it was 10 years ago as well as disenfranchise the city residents' lawfully elected government from making law in this important area of civil life.

Their disgusting lies about nonexistent bathroom violations need to be shown to be ineffective. Otherwise they will lie more and more, just so they can push their narrow minded rules down everyone's throat.

GET OUT TO THE POLLS AND VOTE NO ON AMENDMENT 1!

Why do some people fight so hard for their perceived "right" to hate and discriminate?

Maybe now the rightwingnuts will begin to realize the tide is going out on their movement. People have had it with their personal brand of lunacy & H8.

We are at the beginning of the liberal revolution, which I guess would be the Obama revolution since it is undoing the Reagan revolution. We will have some defeats and some pitfalls, but for the most part, the country is lurching back toward the left of center. over the next twenty years or so, we will win our rights and equality, while the right whines and complains.

Just part of politics in america. The sound of conservatives bitching and moaning is like music to my ears.

Wow Lilith you are one sick hate filled puppy.

My deep sympathy for you. How do you live with yourself? Why do weirdos feel the need to feel normal and hate anyone with a differing view.

We do not hate you. We just understand you need help and should not infect us with your bizarre notions.

I didn't see any hate in Lillith's post and I do see a lot in yours. She didn't call anyone weird, infectious and filled with bizarre notions. Perhaps you need to meditate on the difference between hate and a bit of deserved Schadenfruede on the part of those who have been victimized by real hate in their lives.

there miserable and misery loves company, usually religous people , i noticed my neighbors every sunday when they come home from there worship they look like they want to rip everyones heads off . its sad so many claim to love and not hate and live by the book but there the miserable folk and do the most hating and gossiping, i say live like you want, do what you want without breaking laws or hurting people or animals and you will be fine. This fear of god crap is just a way for preachers to get a congregation to line there own pockets the lazy way in life

i have been there many times, once they find out your gay, they snicker the whole time and dont do shit, we had people stalking us in our yard in arrendondo and the cops were told and also told we were a gay couple, the manager said the cops will do a stepup in there patrol but they NEVER came down there one time , thats why i cant stand cops anymore, they all think there above the law, i was just recently pulled over by a fish and game dork who was in his own truck lifted truck and he started a roadrage incident with me and chased me after i tapped my breaks when he was on my ass chasing me , they asked whos car i was in and i said my boyfriends, bam, reckless driving ticket , now everytime he sees me coming down the road he swerves into my lane aggressively like he tried to cut me off when i passed him the day he pulled me over after he pulled in front of me and only stayed going 40mph . hes alittle meatball looking guy in a lifter champaign color chevy truck, happed on 53rd ave. so now my cdl is screwd because of him roadraging, must be nice to be avove the law and guys who want to play patrol cop

So, more than three years after this vote was taken, have any of the doomsday scenarios predicted by the law's opponents happened? Any of them?

Nope. Nada. Nein. They were lying to you people.
