There is no such thing in our sex reality as an 'other' category as yet and I don't see this changing any time soon. There are a lot of factors to consider here. Look at the whole picture and not jut one point of view. Our society is having enough of a hard time accepting the changing roles of gay, lesbian and transsexuals and their choices. There are just too many factors to consider here and there is no justification for this role in our present society.
The "justification" is that people should be free to live as they were want, not have to conform to what society deems acceptable.

All the following were once considered abnormal or unacceptable in socity:

Inter-racial relationships
Left-handedness
Homosexuality
Athiests

In a free society, PEOPLE have the right to choose how to live their lives, NOT society.

It appears that you are the one who does not want gender reassignment for what ever the reason. According to what I read, you stated you 'would rather be in the middle' and that concern me. Gender reassignment if for a healthy individual who understands that they want the reassignment. They have the right to choose. There may be a 'mix up' of chromosomes in the world but there is the option of choosing where you want to belong. At least making a choice I can respect although I may not understand it, it doesn't mean I have to understand it, just accept it. That I can respect because it take a lot to make this decision and the life altering changes that happen after. I don't understand an individual who sees this 'mix up' of chromosomes and does not want to do anything about it. That sounds unhealthy to me. It is your life and if you want to live a lie, just don't hurt anyone who does not understand you choices.
You miss-understand me then. I want to be a woman. I want nothing more than to be able to fall in love get pregnant raise a family. But I live in reality. I understand that I will never ever get pregnant that I will never live that dream. And I will suffer for that every day of my life.

What I want and what I am are two different things. Reality states I will never be fully female Just something in the middle. I will have the surgery and do the hormones and live my life as a woman. But I understand that physiologically i'm no different than someone who suffers from Androgen insensitivity syndrome.

I try to live my life understanding where people come from. I am not always successful. But as i stated In my mind I am a woman. However in reality I can only make the journey half way there. It will have to be enough for me.

I really don't understand your issues here. You seem to feel like 'Reality states I will never be fully female Just something in the middle', and I don't understand why this is an issue with you. Once your receive the proper hormone treatments, you will feel the advantage of a female sex. Do you understand this? Hormones is what makes up our chemistry as male or female. Why are you so mistrusting of these treatments?
'However in reality I can only make the journey half way there.' You make these choices.I think you had better do some more research about reassignment surgery. You could benefit from the hormone treatments and once you receive these treatments, you will see the difference. Don't let fer dictate your life.

You missed my point then. I can never give birth which is something I want more than anything. Thats why i wont consider myself fully female. I know there are many women who cannot have children. I'm not saying its logical just saying it is.

All right, I understand your issue now but you can fulfill your life in many ways. Giving birth is not the sole purpose of living. Don't let this be your center of the world. I understand your need to have something born of your own womb but you can devote as much love in finding an outlet for this need. You have something to offer so use it wisely and don't waste you life's memories on what you cannot accomplish. If you have that much love to give, you can and will find a way to make that love work for you.

oh no im living a full life. I graduate from nursing school in less than two months. I have wonderfull friends and Im going to be able to do alot with it. There is always surrogacy or adoption when I find the right guy and settle down. I can even take hormones that will allow me to breast feed. But the instinct in me to be a mother has always been strong and always been there even when I was very young. Its hard to fight instinct when its that strong.

Sounds like you're beginning to understand how we feel and why we need SRS to make us as complete as possible. This isn't a game! It's serious for us. Roisia is becoming a trained nurse(BSM?), who will be using her skills to help people. We're not street people, although many of us have been forced to live on the street. That's because old traditionalists can't accept as we say we are. Basically the old "Woman in a male body". They have to look for more underlying causes (Sexual perversion, insanity, mental instability) to explain our presence. I suggest that you google this site Lynnconway.com for explanations. This is not pornographic! It's more academic and enlightening, especially the part of the site titled "Transexual women's successes"

Yeah, that's not likely to happen anytime soon. At least not as long as the APA still classifies it as a disorder.
If it's not a disorder it doesn't require treatment and a "sex change operation" is nothing more than a frivolous cosmetic surgery. In fact if it's not a disorder the military could just say that cosmetic surgery as a whole promotes vanity and that's not good for discipline and so prohibit sexual reassignment while in the military.

It most certainly is a mental disorder. The mind/brain wants the body to look like the opposite sex, and this causes the sufferer psychological pain. Mental issues that cause a person pain or other problems are mental disorders, it's that simple. If it's not a mental disorder then you are saying that it doesn't cause you any pain, and getting a sex change is akin to getting a haircut.

Now the question of whether or not you should be allowed in the military, that's tricky.

It's understandable if the military doesn't want someone who is transition there with all the attendant psychological things that go along with that that could hurt morale, or even lead to higher rates of suicide(having to deal with gender dysphoria, and fighting a war all at once could really take its toll).

I think if you are done transitioning then you should be allowed in the military, but only after you are done and are significantly sure that your decision was the right one.

As for mental disorders, some people say any mental disorder shouldn't be allowed but realistically in 20 years everybody will have one given the rate of diagnostic categorization and the rate that Big Pharma is finding new medications. It really depends on the disorder. If someone just has ADD and they show that it's well enough under control at least with medication then they should be allowed in the military.
