For many, it's difficult to understand Foster Noone's sexual identity. The 17-year-old uses the labels of bisexual, trans and gender neutral all at once.

We each have the right to define ourselves. I know many transpeople; I don't know any who want a variety of pronouns. Most just want the standard pronoun for the gender they identify with.

You are able to research this matter of people coming up with a variety of pronouns, as well as the variety of genders people now claim.

You also don't know any teenagers who identify as bi, trans and gender neutral, either. Are you saying that therefore such teens don't exist and you don't have to consider them as existing?

I'm somewhat of a traditionalist and I know of the "Medical Student Syndrome" which allows the new medical student to believe that they have just about every ailment in the book. Much of it is due to over identification, not a real diagnoses. Even Doctors need other Doctors to diagnose them. Yet we're asked to believe a wet behind the ears student when they're spouting nonsense about being "gender neutral"? Let's get real here! Kids will be kids! and the young person may have a real problem that they just aren't describing correctly or over defining every little nuance of every day and that becomes a symptom.I'm a M to F transexual woman. I don't even like "Bisexual", I play with who I like, they're gender is not important to me.(At 60+ yo, I take pretty much who and what I can get) But I find that self definition and self diagnosis are usually wrong.

You don't seem to realize that "you're imposing your language" on these many trans folks who, in fact, do have all sorts of differing requirements about pronouns. Not to mention about many other things.
Also, we're up to about ten different ways to self identify gender now....
Have fun keeping track of each person's insistence on these matters.
Oh, and I'm sure the kid feels sure. That doesn't mean it's not all veering towards redundant. It reminds me of how Starr (sp?) Jones orders a hamburger from her server. She knows what she wants, too._Exactly_.

Very good.

I especially liked ...

" ... I find that self definition and self diagnosis are usually wrong ... "

So true.

Life experience is essential. This age group has almost none, and very little sense of proportion about even that.

Some want more accurate designations, but just pronouns? They have more important things to worry about. There may be a few individuals who want more pronouns, but they are hardly representative of the trans community.

Your logic is impeccable...for a head trauma patient.

That's presuming you fit yourself into a diagnosis you become familiar with. I knew I was gay--attracted to other males-- at 12, and had to go searching for the word to describe that feeling. I have no reason to assume that this kid did the same thing. Some people are more self-aware and introspective than others. Saying he doesn't know who he is is pretty disrespectful.

If that isn't proof enough of how all this LGBT homo trans crap being forced down our children's throats is screwing them up I don't know what is.
This poor confused kid doesn't know if he/she's coming or going.
Looks like you trying to force your heterosexuality on others doesn't always work.

I'm saying that the word-chopping is pointless.

You simply don't know what you're talking about. OTOH, the trans community is just "a few individuals" in the larger scheme of things, so I suppose you have a point in that sense.

This guy's affectation just points to what is going on in that area. As I said there's no shortage of differing approaches to gender and to pronouns now.

It really is like Starr Jones ordering a hamburger.
