I have been on hormones for a little over 3 years now. I know that pills are cheaper than the estrogen shots, becuase that is what my doctor prescribed when I did not have insurance. My question is this; For faster results, should I take Pills or Shots for my estrogen? Which will give me faster if not better results?

If any of you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Faster isn't going to matter.

What matters is *steady supply*. That is, a continuous level.

For that, Shots are far more effective, but the online sources are not nearly as good as prescribed ones (about half strength or less).

Shots also take effect a bit quicker.

But speed is always going to depend on your body and the dosage. It still takes 7 years, no matter what else goes on. It is puberty.

I thank you for helping me with that question. So basicaly you are saying that 7 years is the amount of time the body takes for puberty. Well I quess I have a few more...3 1/2 years to go.

I have never interupted my HRT, and have continued to take my prescribed dosage. However based on what you have just told me, do you think that I should ask my doctor for the shots instead of the pills?.....you know for better results? If I am putting it correctly?

No -- not *instead*.

Ask him to reduce your pills and add the shots, 20mg/ml or better.

By steady supply, I mean that Pills have a relatively rapid half life, and so ideally should be taken every 6 hours (the total daily does), but that sorta interferes with sleep.

shots do not have as quick a half life and are used more efficiently since the supply is very steady.

One thing shots do faster than pills is softening around the upper arms and fat redist. But expect a very rapid drop in overall upper body strength (3 to 6 months)
