Once again the rights of actual females get trampled on just to placate the feelings of a male who wants to be something he is not. Contrary to the pretty picture they paint, most females do not want a male in the restroom with them and no matter how much make up he wears or how many dresses he puts on, he is a MALE. And the argument that has been used so many times in these situations "He thinks he's a girl so he is one" is utterly ridiculous. Thinking something does not make it reality. We could all think we are millionaires or supermodels, but that is not going to make it real.

And so goes the struggle of people to be their authentic selves. The need to be authentic in who we are whether it be a woman, man, gay, straight or transgender, the need is to be authentic. Ignorance has no place in the life of a person seeking to be authentic. Now of course a whole lot of people live out their life in the "closet" for the sake of people like you. Your words remind that while there is some comfort in the fact that hatred and the strategies of hatred have not changed, you know just like racism, sexism and other forms of hatred we must change. I for one particularly as a person of faith and transgender belief that we must live in truth. This is the bottom line for me that each of us would live a life of truth and to hell with anyone who is close minded, ignorant and fearful

This has nothing to do with hatred, fear or being closed mind. This is about a boy being allowed to enter a girls bathroom and the girls are being forced to accept it without anyone considering that they may be uncomfortable with it. Some girls may be fine with it and that's great, but what about the ones who are not? Is it ok to make them feel uncomfortable or awkward just to keep from hurting this boys feelings? It sounds like you are saying that it is ok to disregard the feelings of actual girls just as long as this boy can be happy while pretending to be a girl. And if he is so comfortable with who he is, then why doesn't he just use the boys restroom? Let me guess: he is uncomfortable using the boys room because he wants to be a girl, so his solution is to force others to be uncomfortable as long as he gets his way. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being different. There is nothing wrong with being who you are regardless of gender, sexual preference or race. Sadly, one cannot encourage acceptance by using the legal system to try and force others to agree with them. That only creates more tension and pushes people farther away.

So by that rationale, a grown man who walks his son into school every morning can just wander in and out of the girls bathroom as he pleases under the ruse that he feels like a little girl that day?? Or if some high school pervert guy can just claim he's a transvestite so he can go shower with the girls??

You people are sick in the head!!
