The quickest way to get rid of this inequality is if the SCOTUS rules this summer that all these state and federal laws banning the right to marry etal. violate the US Constitution's First and Fourteenth Amendments and I believe the Contract Clause.

Unfortunately that's extremely unlikely considering the current makeup of the SCOTUS; I don't think Kennedy is ready to go that far.

We'll likely have to bide our time until either Scalia or Kennedy retire (or die). Of course we have to ensure we have a Dem in the White House when that happens, so vote for Hillary 2016!

Meanwhile we work state-by-state and get marriage equality where we can. We should be able to get about 20 states total either legislatively or by the ballot; after that it'll be up to the SCOTUS.

I sincerely doubt that. Red States suck tax dollars like there's no tomorrow.

And it would be nice for them to include the full faith and credit clause as well.
