This, unfortunately true! The Gay bar is going the way of the dodo. They were great places for me in the 70s and 80s. From the old Blue Note in Asbury Park to the now defunct Cartwheel in New Hope and many others whose name now escapes me. It was a place where a young Transexual could publicly be herself. No more Hiding in the house. No more late night drives in the car, terrified of being pulled over. Yet, dying for a public experience. Bring them back! They served a very real purpose.
Regards, Terri
