well, then they certainly shouldn't publish stories about students who are Jewish because they might get bulllied because of it. Or IRISH because they might get bullied over it. Or ITALIAN because they might get bullied over it. Or RUSSIAN because they might get bullied over it. Or they're a dancer because they might get bullied over it. Or Ia chess master because they might get bullied over it. Or a card player because they might get bullied over it. Or a stamp collector because they might get bullied over it. Or a skier because they might get bullied over it. Or a classical pianist because they might get bullied over it. Or a Republican because they might get bullied over it. Or black because they might get bullied over it. Or........

The upcoming lawsuit against the school and the district will pay for the kid's college. And those attorney's fees ain't exactly chicken feed, either.

Why is it necessary for homosexuals to shove their sexual behavior in everyone's faces? Heterosexuals leave their sex in the bedroom. If homosexuals did the same we'd all get along so much better.

Give me a friggin' break. I'm so sick and tired of seeing straight people playing tongue hockey at the supermarket and in restaurants and at movie theatres and in other public places. And although I see couples that I think are probably gay or lesbian in those same spaces, I'd never be able to prove it by their actual behavior towards each other.

If you're seeing same sex PDAs all around you, then you need to stop hanging around in gay nightclubs, lesbian bars, and your neighbor's bedrooms.

Evangelical fundamentalist terrorists shove their religious superstition in everyone's faces
.
Perhaps they should leave their religious superstition inside their churches where it belongs
.

The SPLC said it violated the student's rights?
How? Are yearbooks now mandated to write about gay students?
Does the story list have to be approved by the SPLC? That's just foolish.

The SPLC is a racist organization that hates white people and should be shut down.

You make it sound as if you read this far...

"And SPLC said that the move violated the student’s rights"

...and then stopped reading. Certainly, such an abbreviated reading would generate confusion. However, the complete paragraph gave more information.

"And SPLC said that the move violated the student’s rights under the Arkansas Student Publications Act, which requires that school boards adopt publication police that allow students to exercise their right of expression, as long as they are not obscene or libelous."

I'm guessing that the word "police" is a typo, and should read "policies", but it sounds possible that the school district decided to exclude Ellis' story for reasons OTHER than oscenity or libel. It's not as if there isn't precedent for such exclusion of gay people in Arkansas' history. If the district had some other reasons for choosing to exclude Ellis' story (an important and poignant one) then they should have no problem demonstrating this.

All men and women are heterosexuals. People who deviate away from physical sexual contact outside of a man and a woman are merely engaging in excessive compulsive behaviors. All of which can be treated with proper professional therapy.

Why should this kid's story be published? Every kid has a story of some sort or another. Why would a gay kid's story be more important than any other? Sounds like this kid "came out" but still can't get over himself.

Without actually READING his story, as well as all other stories that may have also been submitted to the yearbook, you aren't qualified to make a determination which stories should have been included, or on what grounds they should've been excluded.

A coming out story is not about sexual behaviour. Its usually about a journey from repression to freedom. If you EVER had to be afraid just because you were something that lots of other people didn't like, you would understand that.

Okay, boys and girls. Listen and learn.

This poster is a prime example of what happens to someone when they drop out of school before the third grade and spend their time locked in their room, playing X-Box, smoking crack, drinking rubbing alcohol, and spanking the monkey until their hands bleed.

Scary, isn't it?

Imagine if gay people had not been treated any differently for the past few centuries. Then, we might live in a world today where gay people are not treated any differently. If you don't want to see gay people receiving compensatory benefits from being treated like outsiders, your first step might be to not treat gay people like outsiders.

How do you know he's a "sir"?

Celtic Cross isn't exactly a masculine name.

Who's stopping other kids from telling their stories? It seems that only the gay kid's story is being censored. That's what we call DISCRIMINATION.
