Yes it does cause harm, It's inherently self destructive behavior which leads to death and disease in most cases of male homosexuality!
Males who practice a homosexual lifestyle are more likely to commit suicide, become a victim of domestic violence, suffer from depression and other psychosomatic disorders, contract a deadly disease ie: cancer, HIV, etc.
The male homosexual is simply reacting to an abusive childhood situation, Akin to the "promiscuous young girl" who was sexually abused or suffered an absent or neglectful paternal role model.
It's textbook behavior that should not be celebrated or normalized. It's a pitiful reaction to circumstances and should be treated by a professional.

Legitimately being gay is genetic, but I do believe that many people in today's time choose to be homosexual due to one thing or another. Absent fathers, bullied at school and don't fit in etc. I feel homosexuals get a bad rep from people who do choose to be gay because those who choose it tend to over compensate and offend others.
Why does it matter why a person is gay? If it's possible to choose then why is it any worse of a choice than one's choice of whether to eloop or have a traditional wedding or be single, one's choice of religious affiliation, etc.?

Your desires are your desires so even if someone's homosexuality(for adults only) was indirectly influenced by an absent father, getting bullied, or what ever what's wrong with filling the desires if it harms none? Just because something negative lead to a desire doesn't mean that desire itself is negative. A person may have a terrible family life, lots of abuse,... and then compensate by trying hard to be very successful. Should we tell them that no, they were influenced by something bad and should really desire to be poor their entire lives? What if we could determine that without the adversity just going on genetics the person would've had no motivation to do much of anything. Are the hard circumstances the person went through and the results then wrong? Should we give them reparative therapy until they desire mediocrity again or celebrate that something good came of something bad?

I don't hate anyone, that's why I wouldn't want anyone to live in such a self destructive way as a "gay" man.

My heart goes out to my friends and family I see caught up I'm that lifestyle.

I know many contented and healthy gay men. Even more healthy and contented lesbians. Why do you think being gay is self destructive? I think you are reading too much anti-gay propaganda.

The greatest harm that LGBT people suffer comes from the hands of those who continue to oppress, marginalize and abuse them for being who they are.

No sorry, the greatest harm done to gays is self inflicted. It's a lifestyle choice that leads down a dead end path.

I know a lot of gay men myself, many of which are family members and close friends that I love and adore and hate to see the suffering that the lifestyle coincides with. Disease, domestic violence, drugs, suicide are all synonymous with the gay scene.

It's very sad to see the suffering that comes with choosing such a dark and destructive lifestyle!!

it's a choice. Some people might have tendencies like alcoholism but it's a choice.
If it weren't then why are there more and more gays as time goes on? No, it's not that they were afraid to come out of the closet. I'm talking a couple hundred years ago, there wasn't the same amount of gays - even closet case. People these days just want to be different ,for whatever stubborn reason, and not how they were made to be.
It's kinda common sense - there's no way two of the same gender can produce a child. And, don't say the moronic: "Well there's heterosexuals who can't have babies too". Yes, there can be complications, but the only way a baby can EVER be made is by man and woman. That's proof that that's just how it was meant to be.

Why would you even want to imagine that a perfectly normal trait like being homosexual should be a concern like a per-disposition to being alcoholic? Awfully negative of YOU, don't you think?

There aren't any more of us than there ever have been dear, it's just more and more we are willing to live openly and honestly with this gift we've been given, despite how people like you feel about it.

You really have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, do you?

You know this how? Were you there? Have something you believe to be proof? Just so you know, the general scientific consensus on the subject is that our percentage of the population has always been relatively the same. 200 years ago it did not pay to be particularly open or honest about such feelings. You heterosexuals can be hazardous to our health when you set your minds to it.

I was made to be homosexual dear. Trust me. I know myself a heck of a lot better than you do. No one chooses to be homosexual, they might, for any number of reasons, choose to engage in same sex sexual acts, but to become actually homosexual, if you you weren't given the gift by the time you were born, you aren't getting it later.

Not yet anyways. Besides, reproduction isn't the end all and be all in the survival of the species.

I don't see why your problem with same sex couples not being able to make babies the heterosexual sexual way in the privacy of their own bedroom should be our problem.
