Wow, duck calls and a reborn idiot with a beard. What is next on A&E? Dancing snake handlers with a moonshine still beneath the Chick-fil-a that hires former hoarders with Honey Boo Boo's mother as security, breaking up fights with the Gypsy Sisters?

Phil did nothing wrong. He never compared homosexuality with beastiality. He stated that in the bible it says that they are sin, as is infidelity. His comments on African Americans was in no way racist. Phil has a right to work and not be persecuted for his religious beliefs. I have read what phil said over and over, and have seen those words twisted and manipulated by the true haters. Hope everybody rallies around him.
To hang him or to shoot him ?

The man was fired from his job because he gave his opinion in an interview about his religious beliefs. It was on his own time and was not on the "company" property. I don't think you can legally fire somebody for that thanks to something about this thing called the "First Amendment".

I agree with Brian. Just passin' by, here, to give a good word for Phil. I like him and his family. I don't watch anything else on A&E except Duck Dynasty. I think other networks would be interested in their program.
I love it when they gather around the table and thank God for what God has given them. Hey! I let my kids watch it! It's how I became familiar with it.
I'm on Phil's side! I like a Christian that will stand up for what he believes in and for the Word of God--even when it's not the popular thing to say or do. I hope those guys move to another channel, because I will probably continue to watch it---then--but not now--not as long as A&E is being prejudiced against Christians. Phil was asked a question. He gave an answer. Free speech! Heeeeeeeyyyyy, y'all remember free speech? Freedom of religion? The freedom to quote the Bible? Come on, now!
Do I hate homosexual/lesbian people? No! How could I? One of my dearest friends in this world was gay. He knew how I felt and I knew how he felt. Therefore, I agree with Romans 1 when it comes to sexual sins. There's other places, too, that mention sexual sins--but Romans 1 is a good start. I agree with the entire Bible when it comes to any sin. Do I sin? Of course, I do--but I pray and ask God to forgive me.
We hate the sin--even if we do it. But we love the sinner. Dearly!
Salvation is available, and deliverance is too. There is deliverance for people if they want it. God is able and willing to forgive and to deliver. Yes, He is!
We all need the Lord, no matter who we are nor how good or how bad we act. No matter what our lifestyles are--we need God. So, what it Phil guilty of, then? Being a Christian and quoting something out of the Bible? There was a time when it was less controversial. Looks like Phil is a man of conviction. I like him and his family.
Here's my prediction: The Robertsons take their smash hit TV show to another network. Millions of viewers will forget about A&E, which means the ad revenue goes out the window. Once the top brass see the money dwindle to nothing heads will begin to roll.

Firstly, he wasn't fired. He was suspended. There's a difference.

Secondly, the First Amendment, and all other parts of the U.S. Constitution, applies to the GOVERNMENT, NOT private companies, corporations, people, etc. Any company can fire a person if that person says something they don't like. And most states are "at will" states which means a person can be fired at any time for any reason, or no reason at all.

Do you even LIVE in this country ???!!! Because you sure don't seem know much about it.

Noe, he's not ! He's VERY clear ! There's no ambiguity or wiggle room in that part of scripture. Women are to be SILENT in a church. End of story. THAT is what Saint Paul said.
This is taken out of context to say the least. The greek word for church is ecclesia, in the earliar translation it was kuriakos, meaning belonging to the lord. Ecclesia was a governing body representing a township in earliar text, the words eventually became to mean the same thing. In the Christian sense Gods government or community or township meant a body-politic belonging to him. When the Christian community set down at the court of Christ, or ruling body politic of God there was not a "preacher" interpreting the word. One Brother was not higher than another. They set down as Brothers to "prove all things". This is how the women were to be silent in the body-politic or church. It doesn't mean they were to be mute. It means they had no authority over their Christian husbands, they were to question or ask him. It was a Patriarchal family and the man was the head of the house.Does this mean women were to keep their mouths shut, hell no. They just were not to exercise authority over their husbands in the governing sense. Its hard for people to understand Greek culture without understanding the history. A good place to start would be Dio, Josephus, or Tacistus...

Look Davy, I am not here to right a paper or spell check everything so I can impress some liberal sodomite as yourself. And I don't know what I stated that was so racist. I am for the survival of Gods original creation and you call that racist. I am for marriage between a man and a woman and once again thats called racism. Truth is you are the racist. You don't believe in freedom of speech. You don't believe people have the right to have some traditional morals and values. You believe you are the only one that deserves freedom of speech and if anyone disagrees with you they are a racist or homophobic. You see I truly believe in freedom. I could care less what you do. You want to prance around in pastels go ahead, you want to let your pants sag down your ass and smoke dope all day go ahead. I think all people reserve the right to go to hell if they want. You see I am a freedom lover and for equal opportunity...

All of you bible bumpers point to the constitution when it applies to your point but push it under the rug when it applies to others. Example: if you believe that you should have the freedom to say what you believe without consequence then you should also believe others should have the same rights to do what they believe. You want your beliefs heard and imposed on others. That's hypocritical.

LOOK! Suspension isn't firing, and showbiz contracts have some pretty remarkable clauses in them.

I know one young star who's not allowed to ride his motorcycle, fly in private planes, swim in the ocean without a personal lifeguard in attendance, etc; on top of all the usual turpitude and non-competition provisions and a lot more. And when a show reaches brand status, subsequent contracts become even more restrictive, including restriction of Free Speech.

It's the way the business works.

You want to dine, you sign.

It's also how the U.S. Constitution works regarding private contracts. The Constitution doesn't protect Rights that a person waives voluntarily.

I still agree with Camille, though.

I believe Mr. Robertson gave a harsh "sermon" in real life. If he spoke more about the other commandments like adultery, which millions of people are committing everyday, you would hardly hear any comment. Since the gay movement has been embraced and some politicians, priests and actors have came out, people thinks it's ok. What does the Bible say about Homosexuals ? God is in charge and the one that matters in this and he says it is sin.

To fa foxy

If this is your opinion, so be it. Just hope people like yourself wake up and actually see what's going on in this country. You see homosexuality shoved down people's throat and there supposed to remain silent. A man speaks his religious beliefs, that are written in the bible, and he his demonized. What has come of this country when the bible is "hate speech". Seriously? This is just the beginning and don't affect you now. Eventually we will all be repressed if we don't take a stand.
