I have no need. That housing should be available to anyone that meets the income requirements.
Financed totally by The Hirschfeld Fund, they are not public housing projects.

Two things, say, veterans and the disabled, do not have to be the "same" in order to share this relevant commonality. Anyone can see that.
Some of the similarities I like between race and sexual orientation are that black people who could used to pass, like glbt people who could used or do remain in the closet. That's just one similarity. Another might be the extraordinary level of the hatred historically directed at the two minority groups.
One significant difference would be that no black child was ever rejected by her family or her clergy for being black.
You seem to have a grievance when you object to the comparing of race and sexual orientation. What is the exact nature of that grievance, since it's well founded in many ways?
Trolling? Confusion? Homophobia? Stupidity?
Another comparison would be Jews, who could often pass if they wanted. Of course, that generally meant severing ties with their families and friends--sort of like gay people had to.

You are deeply confused again.

"The $20-million project is supported by city, state and federal funding...."

That's from epgn dot com. That is Mark Segal's glbt newspaper, fyi.

The donor you mentioned played a large part, and has done a lot of other things for the glbt and wider communities in Philly.

Where from and how and why do you dream such stuff up?

Ever hear of William Levitt ? He built Levittown Long Island, and Levittowns in other places around the U.S. He basically invented modern suburbia. He built approx. 150,000 houses. Ever hear of him ?

Yup, these old queens get to live in a fancy upscale place for pennies while normal decent senior citizens have to live in some stinking broken down roach infested building.
Who's fault is that Vermin? If you cared about your parents they wouldn't be in such a place.

Where are YOU going to end up someday? Obviously YOU will never have children to wipe you drool when you get feeble, since you've never seen a woman naked, except your mother.

Being gay and being black and the struggles of both, are not the same. I know it's hip to compare the gay struggle to black civil rights, but it's different. Blacks were lynched, beaten and burned alive for being black. Signs hung in town businesses stating "No blacks allowed". No gay person has ever been through that. You can hide gay. You can't hide your color. So no, an old gay person is only special to their family.
Ever heard of Germany? Untold thousands of gays were tortured and killed. Sad part is that in Germany AFTER the war, the Jews and others were released, the gays, thrown into prison again.

Up till the 70's you could be arrested for even standing in a gay bar. If you spoke to a stranger on the street you might be jailed.

I am old enough to recall signs in diners, when I was a young kid, that said "Faggots stay out" and that was in WEST HOLLYWOOD.

Now, in Africa, gays are being imprisoned, and folks who KNOW they were gay and did not report them, are being imprisoned. If that is not discrimination, what is? Ironic, ain't it, that BLACKS are doing the terrible discrimination in Africa.

They who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

One is race and one is sexual orientation. There is your answer, professor.

Next time, get to the point and save the irrelevant banter for your cohorts.

Some blacks are racist too. That's not news. Just like some whites, Asians, Latinos, etc. that's not really ironic, it's human nature.

As for being gay in Germany...

Looks like they are pretty welcoming to homosexuals. That's all I know about it. If you'd rather dwell on past mistakes, that's your hang up.

I don't think you want to compare civil rights being violated in the 70s. Do you?

Russia and the Ukraine also have no homosexuality laws. Is that also "ironic"?

No, that's not an answer.

Why does it matter to you if race and sexual orientation are not exactly the same? Things don't have to be the same in order to be compared or likened. Things can be similar and different from one another at the same time.

We know there are differences between race and sexual orientation. I named at least one: No black child was ever rejected by his family or church for being black.

The question is why is it so important for you to deny that there is a considerable, highly relevant overlap between race and sexual orientation, specifically in that both groups have been targets of pogroms to one degree or another?

I say it's because you're another trolling homophobe. Of course it's also possible you're just not terribly bright.

Before you start with your bogus soapbox ranting, know what you're talking about, crybaby.

The poster tried to compare Africa as being racist against gays while other European countries do the same thing. Shameful ploy, oh mighty defender of gay rights.
