Affordable housing for gay seniors opens in Pa.

No matter that he's 70 years old. Zeft had landed a coveted spot in a new affordable housing complex for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender seniors in the heart of downtown Philadelphia.

I'm unhappy with my first sentence up there.

I meant: How telling you don't know where this silly notion that there's only a very small number of units set aside for truly low income residents. That fact has been effaced in favor of a more flattering-to-the-movers-and-s hakers line that the whole building is "affordable housing," imo.

It's so funny watching homophobes quote Federal Law (the Fair Housing Act - which doesn't mention sexual orientation anyway) while at the same time they want States Rights in marriage laws for Utah and all the others who passed unconstitutional bans on SSM.

This is subsidized by a charitable grant not taxes you clueless bigot.

Yes, they do discriminate, you have to be 55 or older. Glad to see you people working to emphasize that you are different and not equal.
Oh so do you oppose discounts for seniors on buses? Do you oppose the effort to give military vets and current military discounts?

Back when AIDS first hit you complained about all the programs that started to help them as well. It was taking money away from stuff YOU deemed "IMPORTANT".

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if you threw your beer at the TV every time a St. Jude's Children's cancer Hospital commercial comes on. How DARE people practice discrimination by funding a hospital ONLY for children with cancer!!!!!!!!

On second thought, probably not. It's just just us gays and lesbians you have a bug up your backside about. Thing is this is being subsidized by private grants, not YOUR money.

Care to talk about public school funding?
Those of us without children still pay the same amount of taxes for that as you did. I don't see you whining about how unfair that is.

As gays and lesbians we ARE part of the greater community we all live in. And most of us are perfectly happy paying the taxes we pay so heterosexuals can benefit from them. We want good communities and schools just like everyone else.

So tell me again why we shouldn't be treated like all other U. S. Citizens.

I have no need. That housing should be available to anyone that meets the income requirements.
WTF?

So discrimination based favorably on income is cool with you but age and sexual orientation shouldn't be?

If your Mom and Dad are still alive are you going to have the balls to tell THEM that you think they are scamming the system if they accept discounts for seniors in say, grocery stores, health clubs, health insurance, car insurance, movie tickets, etc.?

So I guess it's OK with you if a hotel turned away your parents for being too old but we MUST make sure that bakers who are christian can ignore public laws as well, right?

Someone once gave me a definition of two faced. You fit it perfectly. The two cheeks people see are on the face. But the two cheeks people experience with you are usually the ones that are squeezing out crap. out crap.

Yup, these old queens get to live in a fancy upscale place for pennies while normal decent senior citizens have to live in some stinking broken down roach infested building.
Don't blame me that you refuse to help your parents after all they did for you.

Fortunately, it isn't.

I guess "Wondering" also feels wheelchair ramps for people in wheelchairs is discrimination. And those dang yellow bumps in sidewalks for the blind?

DISCRIMINATION right, "wondering"?

If we follow his logic then the Federal Govt should close St. Judes Cancer Research Hospitals and any addiction centers because they 'discriminate'. Heck why stop there. Homeless shelters should be banned too, right? After all isn't it discrimination if they only let in people who have no place to live?

Only if they are turning away anyone who is NOT gay. Is that the case?

If they offer housing to the public they can't discriminate. Just like you claim is true for a CO baker.

So where is your evidence of discrimination? Oh, I thought so. You don't need evidence to spout off your BS.

Oddly enough, this housing development will open the door to Heterosexuals Only, Christians Only, etc. This type of segregation is not the answer.

Of course it is. It's ok, I like it when you want to be different until it doesn't serve you. Hilarious actually.

Just because they are targeting senior gays and lesbians doesn't mean they are discriminating.

It's like claiming that resorts who are geared toward golfers are discriminating against golfers. Or that women's shelters are discriminating against the abusers.

When you have PROOF that they denied a heterosexual a unit then yes it's discrimination. But so far you have no case.
