"Faust told the newspaper that the teen was walking down the center of the tracks when the accident occurred."

I guess teaching to the test does not include common sense and survival skills. How long are we going to avoid education? No federal grant money is given to promote common sense.

Get your facts right! He wasn't killed in downtown. It was near Crosstown & Burger King. Downtown Tupelo starts from Crosstown to East Tupelo

How can you be such an insensitive idiot some family has just lost a child and this is what you have to say about it.... Use some basic human decency and common sense for a change would you please....

Either way you look at it,it's still a tragedy.Someone has lost a child they loved who will never come back home.On the other hand, however, this happened close to noon on a SCHOOL day.Why wasn't this kid in school? And were the parents aware that he wasn't there? I'm assuming most 16 y/o s still attend these days.

Simple stupidy ends life. You can not save people from themselves.

If you do stupid things you can die. It is a lesson most people learn at 3.

Teachers are supposed to teach common sense now? Next you'll be saying they should even BIRTH the children. Gimme a break.

Exactly what is the reason for a teacher?

No, tell me what the job of a parent is to do. Teachers teach subject matter and hit the high spots on things like common sense when they can. It CERTAINLY isn't their job to teach common sense, eating etiquette or how to cut their own fingernails.

More than 50% of the children born in Tupelo live with one parent and that parent does not have the ability to raise a child. Now what? What do you do with a child that has no parent to listen to them read or show them danger? Where is the teaching of morals and ethics when drugs are allowed to be sold on the child's street? We have been sheltered by the phony media news in Tupelo. Without a mentor the children of Tupelo have been abandoned and will be nothing but slaves.

Ron (the victime) was my bestfriend ... He was checked out that day for an appointment... He only lived with his grandmother.. he couldnt be compared to every other teenager ( of course everyone is going to say that in a situation like this ) he truly was different, he lived on the west side of town and his house was behind the local Kroger/Burger King and kids usually take the short cut .. No one knows why he took the short cut or even if he was on the railraod tracks. the conductor has given three different versions of the story 1) He raced across trying to beat the train 2) he was wait for the train to pass and his jacket got caught and 3) he was walking down the middle of the tracks with headphones.... only the conductor knows the real story

Kids from THS are saying it was highly possible it was a suicide based on their knowledge of him. Anything to that?
