It is a shame that Susan Perry has killed herself, I would never want to go through what she did. That being said, the fact that 18 year old Natalie was intoxicated and couldn't negotiate putting her foot 8" forward, and either ignored or couldn't comprehend what she was being told to do certainly contributed to her death. The truth can be painful and the truth is Natalie would most likely be alive and well if she wasn't drunk that night. But now the family will blame the person who wrote the report for the mother's death.

Kwans are incapable of accepting responsibility for anything. They live in a permanently childish state. Kept that way by their television.

who gets the $1.5 mil now?

Maybe the mother felt shame for accepting such a huge settlement for a death caused by her daughter's drunken stupidity.

It's a gap ... step over it.

I am so sick of hearing about this. I am sorry that these ladies are gone...I am sure they were good people. But Natalie and now her mom are responsible for their own deaths. Can we close the book on this now?

A man took a drink
A drink took a man
A drink took everything the man had

Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem

What a terribly sad story all the way around.

What type of trauma could someone experience in life where it gets to the point that they take pleasure and joy in stomping on others?

Perhaps you could explain?

Perhaps you can explain why someone would kill themselves. Why would she do that to what’s left of her family. Pretty selfish act, isn’t it?

Perhaps she ran into you while on Long Island, that would explain everything.

She didn't take anybody else with her, that would be selfish.Highly depressed beyond remorse while having her last memories of her daughter belittled by an unconscionable report by a biased payed off paperpusher of the lirr and ntsb. Those that are capable of suicide are very capable of murder which gives the lirr administrators who hid this gap problem from the public for years a sigh of relief.

You forgot to blame the person that got the daughter booze, the primary reason for the tragedy. Besides, if they hid the gaps, no one would fall through them, would they?

The dummy is YOU. The word they used was "fatality", a NOUN referring to the "victim" of the gap. You're thinking of the word "fatally", which if used to be an adverb to the word "commits" would have been stupid, as you said.

BUT IT WASN'T, YOU DUMB, STUPID, WORTHLESS, SHIT FOR BRAINS ASS! DIE IN A FIRE!

I would have given her a razor blade and told her to cut with the vein.
She probably would’ve screwed that up just like her daughter who couldn’t follow instructions. I’m surprised that she was able to tie a sufficient knot for hanging herself.

Okay, that's embarrassing; that's what I get for posting without my glasses. Also, not in any way trying to start anything, you're usually a bit more laid back in your postings, did you know this person?

BTW Newsday still sucks tho.

IMO The primary reason for the trajedy is the person who drank the booze.secondary is the lirr who hid the fact from the public that alot of people have been injured in the past at certain rr stations due to the size of the gap from the train to platform, which went on uncorrected while the public were not notified of the potential problem. The lirr did not respond adequately until a lawsuit after a fatality.
