I've seen vids of baby seals being clubbed
to death. It's horrific.
I may not care for hunting but, being from
WV, I understand the Need for it. My problem
is always HOW it's done. Not the fact that
it IS done.
Yeah, I know the seal hunt is very touchy subject around the world.

White coat seals, the cute pup pics you see, are all old or faked. Canadian govt/Dept of Fisheries has banned the killing of young "whitecoats" since 1987. Animal rights groups, enviro groups still use these old pics to stir up anger and get more money for their causes.

Most people don't understand that the seal pop. off Canada's east coast is over 5.6 million. Seal hunt has been going on in a place like Newfoundland for generations, probably 300 yrs+. The seal hunt is heavily regulated and never been a threat to the population.

But no matter what facts are on record, it still gets many people angry..lol

I'm glad you said that.
It makes me feel much better. While I support
groups like PETA financially I don't like many
of their tactics. They go way overboard on some
things.
I've seen the effects of deer overpopulation and
it's pretty terrible. One year there were so many
coming down out of the mountains that there was at
least one accident b/t a motor vehicle/deer a night.
Don't just kill the dear but often times kills or
seriously injures the ppl in the car.
Many of the ones coming into ppls yrds looking
for food looked starved.
Even tho I have seen it w/my own eyes PETA, and
groups like them , talk around this fact and swears
hunting (to thin the flocks and herds) is unnecessary.

OMG, I don't support groups like PETA for the same reason I don't support Benny Hinn and the other "send me money" causes.
There is no transparent way to see where the money goes or how they distribute those funds. If you but a hunting lic. at least you know the percentage that goes to management vs. actual support of the "cause" PETA has been proven to be unethical in soooo many ways, they are a joke these days.
I donate 30 acres to land/forest management and base my hunting privileges upon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife recommendations.

I support every cause but you are right.
Often times it's hard to figure out if your
money is actually going TO the cause or being
used to line the pockets of the ppl running
the show.
I have no doubt PETA uses the money for animals.
It's just that their tactics, like running through
Ringling Bros circus naked, often Hurt their cause
more than it helps it.
I do trust programs like Feed the Children and
the Red Cross.

I have a good friend who has been a volunteer at Red Cross for near 30 years now, he and his wife really give it their all.
Anyone trying to make a difference is to be commended, anyone can make excuses...I do commend you for Time spent, money to a good cause, and the heart behind your good intentions!
YOU are a great example, I'm happy to call YOU a friend.

I have kids myself, language...syntax, grammar habits.

It's not a crime to be young...we want to look out for you if we can. There are some real scary people using the World Wide Web these days. If you were old enough to have kids wouldn't you want decent folks looking out for yours?

I will protect my own with my dying breath; all adults should be this way, sadly though some are leopards in the grass!

Watch your step, and please don't be angry because some care.

One island that used to cull seals has discontinued the hunt because of the low demand for seal pelts.

Humane Society International documents every year these sea hunts and sometimes show the aftermath. Its not for the faint of heart.Going by the article i posted, this blood bath done to thousands of seals every year is dying off.

I'm not angry, but I'm turning 18 this year.
