The Wife? Oh she's tolerable...it's her turn to tend the stoves so I'm out in the garage respecting her space...

Hi to Trish and all her friends!
It's nearly 10:30 Sunday morning, here in Brisbane. It has rained all week and is still pelting down. At least I don't have to work today and it's too wet to do any work around the house, so I've got a good excuse to just relax today. Hope you are all enjoying a nice evening.:-)

I never heard of a "duracho" either. Sounds like a Mexican dish. LOL
When I was in Ill. a couple years ago the power went out in July. Hot and humid. No breeze at all. That went on for only four days, but what a four days. At night, it was so hot indoors you thought you would die. Forget going out side. the mosquitoes would eat you alive. Yeah, that was baaaaad.
Then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I thought duracho sounded like a Mexican dish to:) lol

We had another "super storm" when Sandy hit the
coast. That one was only 7 days w/o power plus
about a foot of snow. lol
Twice in one year.....I'm really hoping that doesn't
happen again.

Hi arctic, I'm glad you're having a lovely evening. It's a shame the way that topix is treating Trish. I think there is something very fishy going on there.
It's great that her friends are posting here to welcome her home when she is able to visit.

Trish is a nice lady.
I wasn't here enough last week to
see what was going on. And I was
told many posts were erased.

But we'll keep the thread at the
top for when she comes back:)
Enjoy your Sunday off Irish.

One night years ago I was in a bar. The quake hit and all the hanging lamps above the bar started swinging. The bar stools all went to the right about an inch like it was a choreographed move. We all started laughing.
I've lived in Ill. and I still have a summer place back there. The thing with tornadoes is, you can generally get away from them. Unless of course they come down right on top of your head before you know it's coming. Then you just kiss your azz goodbye.
lol! A couple yrs back I was sitting my butt on the computer in my living room, started to feel my chair rock, kinda like swaying back & forth...thought it was one of my boys messing with me, turned around to find no one there. I was like..sh!t! Earthquake!!! lol!

Hey CB.
I'm sorry but when the earth shakes under
my feet....it's time for me to go. lol

I've lived in this valley my whole life (44yrs)
minus a yr in N.C. and we are not used to
severe weather. It's warm in the summer and
cold in the winter but tornadoes are rare and
earth shakes almost unheard of.

Maybe we just have a false sense of security
b/c weather patterns seem to be changing.

Hey Irish! I'm having a beer, the first of several, I'm sure. Too bad you're so far from California. If you were closer, I'd suggest you and I go out and get faced!

It's funny how when it happens people look at each other yell "Earthquake." We are supposed to "duck and cover" then get out of the building. I don't know anyone who ever did that. LOL
I did but not for earthquakes. I want to gradeschool in the 50's and duck and cover was a regular exercise in schools back then along with fallout shelters...
This video might start out a bit corny for you young people but watch it through...I remember seeing this at the theater... just a little insight from times past...

You're on Dude! What shall we sing? Know any good drinking songs? Of course you do. You're Irish! St. Paddy's day is rapidly approaching, as I'm sure you know!
