*Who says there aren't strong female characters in the Bible. Read Judges 4 and 5. SHE was a judge of Israel, a prophetess, a wife, a warrior, even the commander of the army wouldn't go to war without her.

*Ephesians 6:10-11 Wear the full 'Armour of God.'

If memory serves me correctly (I am getting old) there were a couple of very strong women referenced in the bible. They were a couple of midwives that defied the Pharaoh. They were given a direct order to kill the male children of the Isrealites but refuse. When asked why, they shrugged and said "God made me do it". There was no wrath upon the midwives.

I may have some details mixed up and of course I took some poetic license becasue I don't like quoting, but I think that's about the gist of it. Also, just as a point of interest does anyone know that Pharaoh's name? The midwives names are recorded in the gospel, but not the Pharaoh. Interesting to say the least. ;)

Feel free to correct me if I'm not remembering correctly.

Satan, I'm not sure why God did that. Yet, the Bible treats other names of people and places as important. The Pharaoh(at that time in Egypt)is never named.(info in Exodus) For some reason the omission of his name seems significant. The midwives are named and remembered for their work in not killing babies on his command, the Pharaoh remains an anonymous figure.
So, not much is known about Pharaoh's life. Exodus tells us the old Pharaoh had a daughter (Bithia) and a son with a name also an unknown. Some scholars believe he is Ramseeses II. Which by the way, are a very interesting read... Maybe we could a read a book on 'Ramseeses' together, and discuss it...???:) SL

ps. God didn't make them do it, they feared the Lord. So there... Lol':):)

Okay, that was pretty funny. Never heard of him. I will research him though. It seemed more satanic if anything... God said there would be false prophets...

I think I know why he did that. The Pharaoh was not a fan of God. He (as most leaders in those days) thought that he himself was the God. His blasphemy kept his name from the scriptures. Future Pharaoh's kept his name from history. Every new dynasty tried to wipe the previous dynasty from the history records. Temples were destroyed, statues, anything that would confuse the people about who the one true Pharaoh was, which is the one at the time.

You are right, he didn't make them do it. They did fear him. They feared him more than the Pharaoh. Strong women
