I think you have to look at the bible as something written by man to explain something that they didn't understand. Can you imagine what the same people would write if they came here to this time for five minutes?
How would they explain cars, airplanes and cell phones.
We would be thought of as gods. Just like the Aztecs thought Cortes was a god, when he first came.

I'm doing swell, Miss Fanny Bright. I have one more project at work (well two, but I'll be done with that today) and then it's pretty chill until the end of the year.

I think it is perfectly ok for people to believe in God, in whatever form "he" takes for them. I think religion is necessary to a degree because it gives people a sense of censequence. It's all that really separates us from the other animals. I think it's the same as Santa Claus is for little kids.
DISCLAIMER: KIDS PLEASE STOP READING THIS NOW
Santa isn't real, but he is real enough in the minds of children that they aren't willing to risk him not being real and sacrfice all those presents. I think God, Budha, whatever are the same thing. I grew out of it, some don't and that's ok. I am not trying to change anyone's mind about religion. People are free to believe what they want. However, I don't like it when non-believers are attacked because they simply don't believe. I think that goes against our nations founding doctrine, which will over rule the bible any day of the week in my opinion.
You should probably then not contradict yourself because you attacked a Christian with a wordy satire taken from the Bible (it's capatalized).
So you must care if others believe in God. Thank God our leaders continue to rule based on their religious beliefs, whether they will admit it or not.
At any rate, we'll all find out the truth eventually, won't we.

Ah, here I had almost forgot how dumb you are. You may notice that my wordy satire was a response to the original poster.

Thanks for playing along dummy.

Treading lightly has never really been my strong suit. Do you handle snakes and all that too? I have never understood the speaking in tongues. I know what you think it is, but in reality, deep down, you and I both know it's a farce.
So, back to the subject at hand. Why do you think some people find it difficult to articulate with "holy spirit filled" people? I think it is you that can't articulate. None ever have an original thought. Do you mean to say we can't dispute the word of the bible? Do you mean that you can recite versus of the bible then feel no need to explain them? Why should you need to explain them? Is that because they are open to interpretation? Of course it is, so if they are open to interpretation how can anyone be certain their interpretation is right? You can't. Go to ten different churches with a bible verse and you will get 10 different explainations.
At any rate, as much fun as this could be I will undoubtedly get very bored very fast because you will come back with some bible verse as a rebuttle that means nothing, so sayeth the lord.
The fact, that you don't understood speaking in tongues, is why I have this post. I don't quote the Bible, it wouldn't do me any good. I speak directly to God and he to me. There is no dilusion here. Just fact, it happen to me. My Grandmother, would break out in tongues, in almost every prayer. She was the most amazing person I have ever known. I not trying to convert you, I'm just trying to educate you. Even some of my christian friends, don't quite comprehend it. I have a gift, something so supernatural, that I don't even comprehend all of it myself... and yes, I would be questioning a lot of things, and living my life a lot differently, if it hadn't happened... If you find it boring... Tread on... I'll be here if you need me, and with an honest answer. ps. I do like some snakes.

What religious beliefs permit, condone or promote abortion? Just curious.

It's one of the perks to being Satan. I don't need to justify anything. If you think a little sarcasm is an attack then you are just too thin skinned Barbara.

No thin skin here. I checked out the new thread and saw the ususal suspects slavering over your every word, so decided to call you on your mistake.
No big deal.

Mistake? Someone makes a passive/aggressive comment insinuating that non-believers aren't smart enough to validate their beliefs (or lack thereof), and my rebuttle is an attack? Barbara, are you low on meds again? Is it the twinkie shortage? It's ok, they will be back.

I simply won't argue what the scripture "means" with anyone. It's like looking at an abstract painting and arguing over the painter's intention. It's absolutely pointless. I do however find it amusing that only certain parts of the bible is considered applicable.
