I don't understand the whole industry that works toward preserving the body "forever". Kind of hard to return to dust in a hermetically sealed box within a box filled with toxic preservatives. I understand many places in Europe have a 50 year rental on a plot that can be renewed or allowed to expire <snicker> in which case the plot becomes available to others. There is little or no effort put into preserving the remains and after 50 years not much is left.

Once you stop fearing death, all the drama goes out of it. Cremation is the way to go. Why tie up valuable real estate with a dead body, full of chemicals, in a hermetically sealed box inside a concrete box? Ya gonna dig up Gramps and give him another smackeroo on the cheek?

Death is part of life. None of us will get out alive. Accept it and move on.

yeah, death doesnt scare me, but living in dependent decrepitude does.
rotting in an underground box isnt a pleasant thot, either. cremation is ok but i have an idea i like much better: burial at sea. its cheap, simple, and legal. all u need is a charter fishing boat to haul yourself 3 miles out to sea and an ordinary rock to make sure you dont resurface. if u want, it could be quite a pleasant ceremony; i picture a sunset cruise with wine, music, and maybe a little reminiscing, but no rehearsed eulogizing where ppl declare you were a shining light to humanity.
as far as rebirth, i'd give it a higher probability than some heavenly kingdom full of angels and presided over by some big divine guy, but i dont know.

i love pee wee herman! mr bean is another idol, but i think death when someone has lived a full life is not a scary subject or something ppl should ignore. i dont feel negative about death.
