I know this is a touchy subject. No offence meant to anyone.

Just what is your opinions of the man now that he is gone.

Maybe, but he crossed some very bright lines, and was punished for it.

Some people on Topix need Dr Kevorkian to put themselves out of their misery.

Kovarkian was once asked what the worst day in his life was. He said "The day I was born"

I think that explains much of it.

I think he was a brilliant man. Just misguided, and preyed on the weak minded.

I wonder why he didn't go the assisted suicide route.

Having said that, if I am in a position that I know I am going to die anyhow, and I am in great pain. Who is to tell me I am not allowed to decide to die?

I do think Jack was a depressed guy though. Probably what led to his obsession with death.

A troubled soul, that probably was compassionate because of his depressions.

I voted other. If I can decide to put my dog to sleep who's to say I can't put my Great great grandma down. She was peeing on the floor too.

Putting my dog to sleep was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I haven't gotten another dog since.

I had to put my dog down almost a year ago. His name was Digger. I got another one about a month and a half ago. His name is Henry. I agree it was one of the toughest things I've ever done.

I had a cocker spaniel named Pugsley. And ex gf got him for me for my 21st bday. Had him till about 4 years ago.

I don't see any other dog being able to replace him.

My new dog is not a replacement. The little bastard is driving me nuts.

I guess I'm a sentimental fool, but I weep a little every time I read it.

Good point Bill. But when I die. And I will. I think I should be able to choose how and when if it is to be a drawn out sickness.

Thanks for sharing, Kevin. Clearly he thought the world of you also. What's the expression: Dogs lives are too short. Their only fault, really.
There's a time, a reason, and a season. I've suffered some losses also, who has not, but time not only marches on, but also helps heal. Your Pugs would not want you to be unhappy.
Thanks for your post Junket. I guess I was feeling a bit overly emotional about the matter yesterday. I might get another dog when I am 60-70. It might outlast me then.:/

Kevin, a person I was acquainted with committed suicide some years back. She was despondent over the death of her father and was also in trouble with hi-jinks allegations at her place of employment. She and her dog sat in the running car that was parked in her garage. I first thought - why her dog. After further thought - she likely realized he wouldn't be placed. Sad. My point is that it might not be a responsible action to acquire a pet that you hope outlives you.

I was actually joking about that part Junket. But point made. I will eventually end up getting another. I've never been one to get over such things so easily.

He was such a good dog.
