Sometimes, a Google search for something on the Topix website can bring up results with links to the topix.net website. Click on them and it will actually go to a site in the browser address bar listed as topix.net .

Even this forum, the Topix Forum, is there:
http://www.topix.com/forum/news/topix

I seem to recall reading on Topix that there once was a topix.net that became topix.com . But it appears to be still out there.

So, is there a separate active Topix website other than topix.com ?

Correction?

In attempting to post the .net Topix Forum link above, I think I put it as .com by mistake. So, here it is again. Or maybe I did put it as .net and the posting system translated it to .com. Oh well, see if it comes up as .net this time. The link I'm posting does definitely have the .net on my end.

Yeah, the .net link to the Topix Forum definitely translated to .com as it posted on Topix.

But there is a topix.net website that looks just like the .com Topix website. Just click topix.net and you will go there.

Hi _Olive_,

I'm not that technical. I believe "url" means a website address in the browser address bar. Right?

I don't know if they can or not. I was just curious as to the .net side. Not that it really matters. I'm a user who goes to the .com of Topix.

But I'm there right now. The Topix Forum at topix.net . And I'm on this same thread I posted on the Topix Forum at topix.com . I am making this post from the .net one right now to see how it shows on the .com one, if it does at all.

Weird. I just replied you in this thread from the .net one on the Topix Forum to see if the post would show on this .com one. I don't see it yet.

Not that it matters about the two sites. I was just curious.

URL? That's a website address in the browser address bar, right? I'm not too technical.

Yes, that is what it means.

If you are able to access Topix via Topix.net , and Topix.com , it means there are two urls for the site. That would mean their posts are out there double in the search engine.

Log on one account on Topix.com and another account on Topix.net and by switching between the two, you can use two accounts on one browser.

You know, that might explain how the spazzing grey boxes post as quickly as they do and at the volume they do. They can fill up a thread in a few minutes.

Perhaps, this double site issue could offer an explanation of why so many posts disappear and why so many threads go missing. Maybe at times a post or thread made on one site doesn't show there but gets pulled into the other site. Kinda like a vortex. Another dimenson type scenario in digital terms. The Bermuda Triangle of cyberspace. Twilight Zone. The Outer Limits. Etc.

That has its possiblities. Hypothetical here. Like on Internet Explorer. I guess one could be on topix.com and topix.net both at the same time and use the little 'Forward' and 'Back' arrows to interchange between the two. With IE, there is also the option to open other tabs. I guess realistically speaking, someone could have several tabs open at the same time and each on the two sites. So, maybe users could have upwards to several accounts logged into and in use at the same time depending on how many tabs can be opened in IE and depending on how many accounts they have.

I'm not registered, so I can't try this. But have you tried to log into the same account on both sites? I have noticed that when a green edits post location display (the edit feature option Topix affords to greens), that all previous posts made before the edit also change to reflect whatever the new one is. Perhaps, logging into the same account on both sites would allow the user to edit and have two different things in the location field while posting. For instance, then you could be on the same forum and the same thread making 2 posts under the same account but they both would show 2 different things in the location display.

Making this post at the .net one. But this time I simply changed the .com to .net in the address bar and pressed 'Enter'. And this time I didn't 'Close' from the .com first. Just for the heck of it.

And it may be an indication as to why the 'Judge-Its' accumulate so quickly. And maybe why certain green box posters can rack up so many number of posts in their 'counter' at such an astronomical rate, to the degree that it makes them look like they live on here 24/7.

Somehow, I get the feeling that the proxy stuff comes into play in all of this double site issue. Maybe also even how some green box posters edit their location field to display funny non-existant places that show in blue as if they are a actual forum. But I haven't the slightest idea as to how.

I feel certain this is how my grey box stalker is able to post comments so fast and at such volume.

She has been doing it all day, on IT.

Check this poster's comment out:
http://www.topix.com/forum/news/topix/TT33OD3...

I'm not a technical person but perhaps there may be a few glitches in the posting system in regard to operating 2 Topix sites (.com and .net) that seem to mirror each other. The poster alludes to the possible source of the 'Judge-Its' and 'Animations' for Topix may be from the .net one through "cachefly". So, maybe some posters got into the know of how to practice some pretty crafty posting skills regarding high volumes of 'Judge-Its' and 'Comments' in such a short time span regarding those glitches. And maybe even the green box edit location option where some poster's make fictious places (forums) in blue could be based on altered links. Who knows? Somehow, Albert Einstein's theory of relativaty may come into place through all of this. Let's just hope we don't get sucked into the computer like on the movie "Poltergeist". The one where the little girl gets pulled into the static TV screen. That movie scared the technical difficulties out of me as a kid. For sure. "Theeerrreee heeerrreee". OMG!!!

Is it possible to have more than one browser opened at the same time? Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera. Multiple account posters could have a heydey with each tuned to both sites.

That is how the grey boxes here do so much spamming. The only good news is they think quantity means quality, when the reverse is true, spamming is just stupid.

That is what they are doing, not only utilizing the Topix.net and the Topix.com , but multiple browers.

And for what, to spam the Topix main forum with their comments? Again, they have the misguided idea that quantity, means quality. In fact, the reverse is true.
