Guess better late than never in saying hello to
everyone~~

I didn't think we were going to do our annual, week
in the mountains this year.

Was pleasantly surprised to find out, it's a go~

Take rain gear! So happy for you. I know you always enjoy it so much.

Good morning~~
We are getting together the first week in August.
Years past it usually landed on the week of the
4th.
Good thing, it wasn't this week, with all the rain
we have had.

I'm at the age now, when I see my family and old friends
I wonder if it will be the last time.
Not trying to be morbid, it's reality...

There's this big yellow thing in the sky this morning. I'm trying to figure out what it might be. Mushrooms are growing in everyone's yard. I can't remember a summer with so much rain. The kids go back to school the first of August.

I guess it's none of my business since I don't have children in
the school system here, but why do they even bother with summer
vacation anymore?

We ended the school year the first week of June and returned
the week after Labor Day.

Hi fellow diners! We're finally back down to reasonable temps for summer - 80s to high 90s.

Here are some plants for your garden to attract butterflies:

Well yeah, me too. However, that was in the olden
days. We're old, remember?
I usually had a "working" summer vacation~~
compliments of my mother finding plenty of
jobs for us kids to do.

No swimming or playing on the river until the
hard labor was done...

We did, too, Ruby. We all had assigned jobs before we could go out to play. They weren't that hard, though. Surely my mother wanted us out of the house!

I believe it's real.
I used to spend so much time in the sun and would end up brown as a walnut. Days before sunscreen, too.
I've known a few women who are addicted to tanning and still use those awful tanning booths. After years of tanning, their skin truly does look like leather.

My mom always said too much sun makes your skin look like dried leather. This gal seems to be proof of that.

Not only no, but hell no! That's just nasty. But this kid should go to the health dept, not just post on you tube. That's just really, really disgusting. Flies, rats, and who knows what else. Do they take it back inside and then cook it? I might not be able to eat for the rest of the day after seeing that.

Just what I was wondering too~~
Do they bring the food back in, cook and serve it?
If so, the manager of this particular Golden Corral
needs to be horse whipped...

McDonalds is advertising a new twist on their
Quarter pounders~~
sounds like they're trying to market them aimed
at adults.
What kid would want to eat a habanero quarter pounder?

McDonalds lost me after I read about pink slime
being used as filler in their burgers...

I was just talking to my neice, who is in the restaurant business. The latest thing is sprinkling beef bone marrow on top of a burger. I asked why and what does it taste like? She said it's like "meat butter."
She explained that's why dogs chew on bones - to get to the marrow for the taste. Duh.

I'm sure he was prob fired. He should have had the inspection guy go out back lol.

Does the health inspector not check the back? Seems to me that's part of the food establishment? Some places had additional walk ins in the back due to lack of room.

He probably was fired. I used to think I wanted to go to Golden Corral for the breakfast buffet on the weekend, but after seeing that there's no way I'd ever go to one.
