Here is one more story from the storm..
Friends of my oldest son lost their home.
They got to go in today for first time.
Sitting on pile of rubble between their home and
next door was their fridge.
Doors were gone and all in side.
But sitting on top was small fish bowl with one
gold fish swimming around. And no they did not have fish. They do now..

Since the tornado, some of us have been doing the
I'd rather be in a hurricane than a tornado.
Then earthquake vs tornado.

I've never been in an earthquake so I have no
comparison.
When I think of Japan, what an insult, to survive
a huge earthquake then be swept out to sea in a
tsunami.

Morning, Ruby and Hatti! That's what is so great about this place--you can eat whatever you'd like here and no calories, no cholesterol, fat-free and diet friendly! Ruby, I've been in a very small earthquake when I was growing up in Oregon. Nothing of great magnitude though. It says alot about the human will and spirit when you see people that have been through such destruction, come back and rebuild and go on with their lives. It's totally amazing to me how they can do it. Looks like there might be a hung jury in the penalty phase for Jodi. That would be a shame. Then they'd have to seat another jury for that phase. It that jury can't come to a conclusion, than I think the judge passes sentence. I'm not real sure on that part.
It's going to be another hot one today. Probably in the mid to upper 80's. But the humidity is low, so it's not oppressively hot.

The other day, an interview with a man who lost everything in a
tornado was talking about the personal fall-out that some go through after losing everything.
It was one of those, COMING UP~~STAYED TUNED~~IT'S COMING UP
RIGHT AFTER THIS~~COMING UP~~JUST 20 MORE MINUTES OF COMMERICALS
AND IT WILL BE RIGHT UP!!!
I never did see the interview...

Girl I know some must be tired of hearing the stories but
some are just so cool..
One young girl was in labor during the middle of it and four
nurses were staying by her side. Then it hit the hospital and blew
the walls away. They all stay with her and they had to transport her to another hospital where she gave birth to a little boy
she named Emaual.

I think I read about this. Scary enough being in labor, but to be in labor during a tornado must have freaked her out. It would have me. So many good, positive stories coming out--keep letting us know.

Thanks, Mousie! I like monkey bread. It's going to be a beautiful weekend here. Warm and sunny. Hopefully it will be that way for you too. I know the people trying to do clean up would appreciate some nice weather.

Mousie~~
I'm watching this in the same disbelief I did Katrina.
But, I'm seeing a community, right off the bat trying
to help dig each other out.
Many, many unsung heroes...

Hi all..Ruby you are right..so many kind people and they
will rebuild and they help each other.
What I have been seeing are the ones that go to the site
and give gift cards anywhere from 20.00 to 500.00 to the
family's. Giving to Red Cross or who ever is o.k. but the
money does not get to the families fast enough.
When you have nothing but the clothes on your back you need
toothbrush, comb, shoes or what ever and your check book has blown
away with your bank card so it is needed now.

I know victims are allowed back in to dig through what is left of their belongings but I wonder; who is responsible for clearing personal property and debri?
Is that something that would be covered by homeowners insurance if hiring a heavy equipment company?
I've heard many rebuild on the old foundation.

Another question:
What about clothes? Do they bulldoze them because there's too many
to pick up? Not to mention, ragged from the super storm and filthy to boot.
