I know what you mean. I can't relate to shows were the main characters are in their twenties.
Did you ever watch "House" ?
It's pretty good.
It's rerun on TNT now.
As far as these "reality" shows go---forget about about it.
The majority of them are scripted---and pretty stupid.
JMO.
Yes, I've started watching, House.
I like it~~my husband hasn't given an opinion, yet.

I just recently started watching that, too. I enjoy it.

<quoted text>Oh my, it's a small world! Don't want to date myself, but I remember Alex Madonna. Since we lived there, we never stayed at his inn but a lot of the local boys got their first jobs there as dishwashers, groundskeepers, etc. Madonna built what we called "Madonna Plaza" right across the road and that's where we did our back-to-school shopping because there were really no department stores in San Luis Obispo county. Just little boutiques. So having a real shopping mall was a pretty big thing. No more ordering from Sears catalogue!
Montana d'Oro is a great little campground with a lovely little cove as your beach. Very small and you cant' swim because the water is too rough, but there's a cave there we would have fun exploring because of the danger of the tide coming in and getting trapped in the cave. I read your profile and noted you have grandchildren, so that's the kind of thing they would love, as we did as children.
If you haven't yet been, I highly suggest,

I'll let their web site speak for itself.

If you happen to get up in our neck of the woods, I recommend, www.johnbozemansbistro.com . in Bozeman, Mt. You probably figured out where it was without that bit of info.:-)

No, I haven't! What a surprise and wonderful secret. I was at Hume Lake many years ago, and more recently Hope Valley for fall camping, but that's as far as I've been.
We've always gone up north beyond the Mendocino area for camping and hunting.
This place is only 5.5 hours from me, and those cabin prices are very, very reasonable. What I love about that restaurant is the jumbo scallops are an appetizer! I will definitely save this. Thank you!

You sure know how to eat! And how quaint!
No, never been to Montana, although I'd love to visit someday. Right now, I'm planning a trip up the Oregon coast into Washington. I do know some folks around here who have retired to Montana.

My wife can take all the credit for most of the places that we like to frequent. I could be happy roasting a hunk of meat over an open fire. But I do have to admit, the places she finds are quite enjoyable. But if anyone tells her I said that I'll deny it. I have to have something to complain about when she makes me dress up.:-)

Here is another one you might enjoy.

www.brenthoven.com/nordicinn.html

If you like Italian, there is the 'Italian grill' not even a half mile away from the Nordic Inn at the Alpen Haus resort. Both are in Alpine, Wy. 40mi from Jackson and 90mi from Yellowstone. Plenty of camping in the area. Everything from primitive sites all the way up too full rv hookups and wifi. Just bring your bear repellant.:-)

I was thinking about how reality tv came to be~~
When I look back on cable tv being invented, that's
where I think it started.
I watched the Ted Bundy trial on cable.
I also remember medical shows, showing surgeries.
I think there was a surgery 'channel' for a while. Oh, how far we've come. Or not!

The show I get sucked into is House Hunters on HGTV. And it's on all the time, so that's not difficult to do. It's the show I love talking back to when first time home buyers with little money to spend turn up their noses because a home doesn't have 1) an open floor plan, 2)granite counter tops, 3) stainless steel appliances and 4) walk-in closets..........that never fails to get a good reaction out of me.

A while ago I found out that the show is fake. They find people who are already in escrow on a home and dramatize the rest, showing them two other homes to make it look like they're actually making a choice. Still, I enjoy it!

Thanks for this info. We had our premium cable disconnected, can't watch BB.
We will sign up for Netflix and catch up on what we have missed.
I get their streaming video and it's money well spent. You can catch up on entire series so easily (and quickly) that way.

That's so funny---same here. A few seconds in and I'll know who did it.
I still watch them, though. All three series.
Me too. I was glad TBS started running the first of the original series recently. It's hard to believe how long that's been on!

Have you seen The Newsroom on HBO? Sam Waterston is really good in it.

How lovely! And, that "Cottage?" After viewing the site, I checked for rates and couldn't find anything. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail, as they request. But it's starting to look like you can have a wonderful and affordable vacation in Wyoming.
It's gotten ridiculous around here. My family and I used to spend a week up the coast in a "cottage" for around $40 a day. Then, the area grew more touristy. So the owners came in, put carpet on the floors, gas-log fireplaces in and new furniture. The rates are now more than $200 just for one night. For an ocean view?
Yes, I like Italian, as I do all foods! Thank you, Richard.

That's lovely, Mia. Here's my quote for today, although it's really just a snippet from a book. I thought it was funny:)

"Looking back, I should have known better than to accompany Hugh to a love story. Such movies are always a danger, as unlike battling aliens or going undercover to track a serial killer, falling in love is something most adults have actually experienced at some point in their lives. The theme is universal and encourages the viewer to make a number of unhealthy comparisons, ultimately raising the question "Why can't our lives be like that?" It's a box best left unopened, and its avoidance explains the continued popularity of vampire epics and martial-arts extravaganzas."
~David Sedaris

lol...we have the little brown bears here. I'm sure in Wyoming they're big, right?
I don't like bears. Especially after seeing "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins. If you haven't seen that movie, you should. It's a few years old, so easy to find.

Yes, they all are to varying degrees for different reasons. I found a site where people were discussing Pawn Stars. It's one thing to assume the cast bickering with each other is all made for TV but, I felt cheated to find out a lot of the scenes were faked as well. You do have to suspend belief that people are actually finding Picasso's and taking them to a pawn shop in Vegas....

I'm confused now. Are you in Wyoming or Montana? Or do you just travel a lot?

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Taurus

The sad fact is that a certain person isn't making much sense right now. They seem to be talking nonsense, or maybe they've got the wrong end of the stick but are hanging on to it for grim death and refuse to let you correct them. Mind you, there's also the possibility that you're the one who has got themselves in a muddle but doesn't realize it. Scary!
