Sounds like the 'Old Man' would tell on Rick. He doesn't cut Rick any slack.

I think a family has to be dysfunctional to run a pawn shop. Actually, to be on any reality show on cable.

All this basic cable talk is making me sad! My cable has been out since yesterday evening. They're working on it. I could really use a re-run of Pawn Stars....maybe my Mary Poppins from "Love It Or List It"...

That's one thing I don't miss. Paying for TV. I thought I would. But now, when I am at someone's house and they have TV on, I find it boring. I have "free" antenna TV and when it's raining and the antenna won't cooperate, I put in DVDs I'm accumulated at $3 per pop.

Or, I turn on my radio and do other things.

I really believe that if at least 40% of the nation gave up their Cable TV, we'd all get it for free.

My sister does that. Between the antenna and HULU (I think) she doesn't miss cable. It's one of those things that, if it goes away you miss it but, if it stays away, you don't really care after a while. I watch a lot of junk TV but don't really have a lot of 'must see TV'.

Haven't seen Holmes lately, perhaps they are finding something new for him? I also enjoy watching the property brothers interact and "This Old House" is still worthwhile.
Hi Barbi, I'm also finding myself hitting refresh more often to see my post displayed. Otherwise, I'm staring at a header and that gets stale fast.
I thought there was supposed to be a new season of Holmes Inspection starting this month, but I could be wrong.
I also enjoy Property Brothers. Do you ever have one of those moments when you suddenly start thinking like one of them?

Ferrerman told me about Holmes on Homes (or however you spell it) a while back. We really like watching that one too. It feels more authentic and helpful than most.
There were a couple of love it or list it shows that the real estate agent "happened" to suddenly find the perfect home that came up for sale at the last second in the same neighborhood as the couple's home. At that point for me, it was time to watch a different show.
Holmes is a lot more educational, though when I suddenly point to a wall and say "that's a load bearing wall", the sudden bonk on my head brings me back to reality.

Ok, I haven't been able to figure out what "buffering" is. So, did you mean buttering? Did you butter her and, if so, did she smack you like the big, cuddly panda you are?

I wish I could but all of our TV stations stopped broadcasting through their antennas and went to cable.

<quoted text>Hard Core Pawn can be a little depressing. Real pawn shops are somewhere between Pawn Stars where people are bringing in Piccassos to sell (???!!!!) and Hard Core where they're trying to make rent selling a broken TV. Pawn Stars can be a bit informative though. I've read that they recreate stuff too and kinda fake by and sell some of the items.
Oh, I didn't know there was another pawn shop show. I'll need to look for that. Presently, I'm just into it as an emergency show to watch before bed. Thanks, Ferreman.
Speaking of emergencies, I just watched a new Catfish. I don't wanna spoil it for anyone but think whale. Seems to be a theme today. Baby rhinoceroses to other large mammals.

That family is a bunch of nut cases. They are nothing but a bunch of back biting fools. The customers are funny though. It's hysterical to see what they think they are "entitled" to.
Oh, I know. Those huge black women who get angry and start saying the B word and pointing their fingers. They're horrid.
And bouncers?! lol!

I agree. Good analogy. It is junk TV now that corporations wont' pay writers and use "reality" stars. I had very little must see tv.

Thanks for responding.

I've only seen a few episodes of Catfish. They all seem the same. One I saw the other day, it turned out to be a young girl pretending to romance the other girl. I guess these people are on the level here and your first question is always "WHY?????" It should be their first question too. As in: "Why do I want this woman to think I'm a dude?"

What can they possibly home to accomplish by such duplicity?

Oh, there's always a "why" session. Usually it's the faker is so lonely they just make this stuff up because having an online relationship is better than a real one. They've lived life being shunned because they're fat or unattractive and too lazy to get out in the world and learn there is someone for everyone.
Today, the girl who was pretending to be a man did it out of revenge. She actually pretended to be a dude named "Mike" for two years to keep the other girl, who she knew in real life, away from her own man.
I can't believe I'm watching this crap. It's like driving by a car wreck and you just can't help but look? I've got to move over to more mature TV viewing, like my old Disney movies. I wanna watch The Little Mermaid again. Oh, wait! 90210 is on!!

Ha! I may look again but, some of these shows, if you've seen one you've see all of the. I never saw "Jersey Shore". But, I did watch the West Virginia version, "Buck Wild". I guess it's similar. Drunken young people hooking up? I saw 2 minutes of "Honey Booboo". That was enough. The logging and gold hunting shows on Discovery can be fun but, same ol' same ol' there too.
