Hope you and your Family have a Wonderful Thanksgiving :)
Wabbit, it was a sloppy game on part of the Texans ... they looked tired ... they did just play 5 quarters in OT but that's why they get paid the big bucks, lol ... two missed field goals, really? and a red flag thrown when a touchdown was made? Even I (me) know you can't do that! Detroit's coach should've known better!!!! Costly mistake ... Not many turnovers which was good but when there were they were costly ... So OT comes around and FINALLY the Texans defense shows up to play ... I never heard so much cursing, cussing in my life ... I had to payoff the children to go outside to play ... I ran out of $1 bills and had to go to $5 bills for the older one's LOL ... REALLY!... Why Texans kept the ball on the ground so much I don't know but their defense did not show up to play meanwhile Detroits defense was all over the place! They played well ... I can hardly talk we were yelling and hootin' and hollerin' so much, haha ... it was a good time had by all and I guess that is what matters ... I came home to watch the cowboys and indians came ... I don't think my heart could handly much more of that crowd, lol ... enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend! FC <3 ...

I have posts to reply to here, but before I do I just want to thank all of you for making this thread such a friendly, interesting place to be here on Topix. And I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving ....wherever you are and whatever it is that you're doing:)

We had a very nice dinner followed by a long walk, a nap and then dessert. If I'm honest, I have to say I enjoy the food more the second day when all the work has already been done but today was still wonderful!

~thanks~
The salty & sweet combination was what attracted me, too. Hope your day was a good one, ruby!

You're welcome, Dazzle! Did you cook your turkey breasts yet or is that for the weekend? Hope you won lots of money at the casino!

<quoted text>Sounds like something I can mix up and let the grands make when they're here. Think I have white chocolate and dark chocolate for dipping, plus a handy-dandy small crockpot looking device to melt them in. Thanks for the link! Did you see someone substituted cream cheese for the butter? Oh yum!
I didn't but that does sound good, covcas. I was telling my husband about the recipe and he couldn't get over them only dipping it half-way in chocolate. "What's the point in dipping anything HALF-WAY in chocolate when you can cover the whole thing?" I have to say I agree.

Glad you liked the link and I hope your day was a good one:)

me, too! I'm glad I called for an appointment for a pedi, too! Alot of walk-ins came about 5 ... that's the time of my appt ... guess I waited the last minute but had the presence of mind to make a last minute appt at NOON when I left the house for the pies ... good thing I did ... I'm such the procrastinator ...
Things got worse here as the day went on, Flower-Child. VERY big back-ups on at least two of the main expressways. I guess it all worked out and people eventually got to where they needed to go.

Of course just when you think you've remembered everything.... I forgot to get MILK. I don't normally buy much milk but I wanted it for my gravy so my husband ran out and got it this morning. It's always something!

Thank you Hegel! I've had a wonderful, relaxing day. My family is getting together at my house tomorrow and then glorious chaos will ensue. I have 3 grandchildren (23, 13, 11) and one great-grandson (5). Lots of noise around her tomorrow, lots of good food, and lots and lots of fun. The main tree is decorated, but the little one has a tree for his room the he and the younger grands will decorate. We'll all eat too much, drink too much, and just have one heck of a good time.

That sounds like the best kind of fun, covcas! I love when you have a big bunch and just fly by the seat of your pants rather than having to do things at certain times. I come from a big family and when I've spent time with people who are more reserved and do things more formally it didn't feel very festive....but that's just me. Nothing ruins a good time like too much planning. LOL

The little guy must love having his very own tree. Does he have a favorite ornament? We're putting our tree up tomorrow which is early for us, so I'm impressed you're already done!

We did eat too much and had a little to drink;) We had the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on while we were cooking. I always say it's not the Christmas Season till I see Santa Claus at the end. So today when he came on the screen my husband turned to me and said, "There he is! Want a beer?" I figured ......why not? It was noon and I'd been working all morning. We had a bunch of fun.

It works for me. I think the kids are getting old enough that a day at Nama's isn't such a treat for them anymore. But it will always be a treat for this Nama and Papa.

At 10:30 hubby decided he wanted to wait until tomorrow to assure he would get prime rib. So I cooked dome dressing and the breast. It all turned out great.

I can't believe nobody has posted this.

Oh and covcas, thanks for your earlier posts about how today should be about giving thanks. I, for one, appreciated the effort.

Those kids might not show it, but you can bet it means a lot to them too, covcas. And it will mean even more to them as the years go by.

Great song!

Have fun tomorrow, Dazzle.

Before today is over we should all take a moment to ponder these Thanksgiving Awkward Family Photos.
