<quoted text>Ok, lets talk about facts, say maybe the Sheriff's abuse of budget overruns.

How on earth can he justify spending over $30,000. on vehicle tires at just one tire store alone?
The answer to that is easy. That is the closest tire store that can sale Goodyear tires under the cheapest state contract price. It's about saving money.

<quoted text>I wasn't saying it wasn't reported. I didn't see the names listed on anything reported but obviously I don't read the cedartown paper often so that is probably the problem since she is stating it was reported.

No one has posted the names yet. I'm growing more suspicious that no one has thought to file an open records request for the investigative file into this "heinous crime of defamation"

The names are out there. I know the person who requested or had them requested. I've tried to get in touch by haven't talked with them yet. You can also request records if you want to know and don't believe it.

That was ran in the paper and it was in Atlanta news also. He was really upset that they violated the rights of people and used their position for such.

I have just read your last comments on the top three topic at the moment.
After pondering the period of loud silence following your last offerings, I realize that you have indeed said all there needs to be said.
Thank you.

You are exactly spot on my friend. Topix bull crap is the least of Polk County Sheriffs Office's problems. Redo your priorities and politics and get back to protecting our children and law abiding citizens. Get off the topix site and do your job. Before I retired from the railroad my job was to get freight from one place to another irregardless of what anyone said or liked about it. It is called life so swallow your ego and start living it.

Do you know how to research? It's out there. Why wait for someone to show it to you and get it yourself. Or go to the standard and get you a copy. Geez! Nobody wants to do the work for themselves.

Obviously had that had any truth to it KM would have been all over it. That was just his or his goons way of trying to shut people up. I urge anyone that did not early vote to think and look back at the last 4 years he has been in office, at the cover-ups, law suits, budget, etc... And vote for a change in Poll Co. He needs to go. He had 4 years to fix the good ole boy system and he has only helped it.

Vote Johnny Moats!

So, the sheriff mess is somewhat fixed but the judge that gave the questionable subpoenas to get identification of posters is still in office.

When there is probable cause that a law is broken and an officer goes before a Judge with a search warrant or subpoena they will sign off on it if there is probable cause. That's called a Judge doing their job. It doesn't matter if you agree with the law or not. It's still the law.

i understand these incidents occurred over 2 years ago (the topix 'sniping' at the sheriff and the sheriff getting ip addresses)....and therefore, some folks were apparently so disgruntled with the sheriff trying to get ip addresses via subpoenas that they voted him out (just this past tuesday).

so my question is, if these same folks were so disgruntled ALSO with the judge who signed the order for the subpoenas, why didn't they get someone to step up and run for the judges' position? 2 years is a long time. the judge, as i understand it, wasn't even challenged in the primary election!

well apparently, replacing the magistrate judge just wasn't that important, then, for those who wanted a replacement.
