Yeah not sure anyone could dispute this story. Its not going according to plan though is it. The most recent string of reports on the F35 shows that there is a very long wait now to get the F35. The US has orders to replace planes in 3 services with the F35s. Its close to 3000 planes they planned to buy over the next 15 Years. At peak production which was never expected to be reached until 2030 they would only be making 1 a day. How many do you think will be made between now and then given the cuts that are being made. At present there is less than 100 built and they all have multiple flaws. So you have 11 Partners in the fold to buy them with orders from about 24 to about 120 of them. So in total your looking at about 5000. So these Aircraft Carriers are Ready to go but whats going to fly off of them. Harriers? They are talking about a carrier variant of the Typhoon.<quoted text>
The uk has two brand new aircraft supercarriers, the most advanced in the world, they also have a new fleet of destroyers, again the moat advanced in the world, and theory new frigates. The UK has just built a new fleet of nuclear submarines, the most advanced unfilled USA build their new fleet, the UK and USA ate the. only countries with fifth generation fighter jets. The UK has the third biggest military budget on earth, their ate only three blue water navies in the world, UK, USA, France. UK is the second biggest military power in the world.
But the F35, its now about as popular as the Vietnam war was to hippies to the online Fighter Aircraft Communities. Mind you I know how powerful the Seventh Fleet is with out all the new stuff but its getting old. There are issues with the delays in all programs caused by budget cuts and they just keep putting off the fixes that are needed. Im pretty confident that the Sequestration wont happen this time around however it wont stop the push for more budget cuts. So even though the US has Bases, with Marines and Subs and Ships and Airfields its not likely to sustain any major presence so there is the Deterence Factor is massive. Remember that when push has come to shuv in the past 75 Years since the US has been on hand to deal with it with Extreme Prejudice. In reality they have just made the final outcome worse. So you should expect some major changes in the security environment.
There will be trouble and were not going to be ready for it. The thing is that in the last 20 Years the Asians have put together the capabilities to try and rival the current US capability. They are doing it cheaper and faster than the US in most catagories and catching up Fast. Meanwhile our equipment is rusting or being worn out in Afghanistan and Iraq for no spoil and theirs is all shiney and new. And our future programs are all failing in so many ways. This is the position now but there are fixes for it but they are really expensive and getting more expensive. A war between major powers with China at the Center any time in the next 10 years could infact push the US out of the Eastern Pacific Completely and alter the current course of history as we know it. Australia will get swatted like a fly if this happens either that or there will be a nuclear winter. Most Yanks will be happy to stay on their side of the Pond anyway. My figures are based on current growth figures for Asia, but the thing is the numbers lie and they are probably growing faster than is reported. Just imagine what it would be like if suddenly the Taliban started to produce MANPADS and Javelin type Antitank weapons, imagine what that would do to Muslim weapons supplies and how that would affect Gorrila warfare. Now scale that up to Conventional warfare and look at all the stuff that we spent Trillions developing being made cheaper and faster by China whos population is 4 to five times bigger.
Each models capabilites have also just been down graded.
