The New "Feedback" System!

Hey everyone! We just wanted to let you know that we've launched our new FEEDBACK system!

Now, when you scroll to the bottom of the Topix page, the FEEDBACK button is in the bottom left corner of the Information Tabs.

This system allows users (and editors!) to report content on the site, and ensures that we have a direct link to the content in question. This helps our Topix Mods to more efficiently and rapidly locate the material you would like for us to review.

If you have something to report, try it out!

Great improvement.
This new feature has really helped our forum so much with the trolls.
All their posts and polls have been removed, thank you so much.

The last few posts highlight the need to limit participation in this forum to Topix editors or, failing that, at least to registered users only. this forum was created to be a place where we editors could share tips on performing our roles more effectively, and allowing trolls from our forums to follow us here to continue their cat-fights distracts from that purpose. If that encourages some to become editors simply so that they could participate here, that could enhance this forum and the forums we edit by raising the level of participation of our most controversial writers, starting them down the road we've all been traveling.

I know that I've grown as a result of that role, and I've seen similar growth in participants in my forum who became editors at my suggestion. What I haven't told these folks is that I made that suggestion more because of their negative behavior than their positive qualities. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. So I put the suggestion forward again: let's close the privilege of posting here to all but Topix editors and administrators.

Perfectly said.
And I must say, learning from you is a priviledge, your advice about remaining calm, is advice everyone on Topix could use.
I wish more posters on our forum would be editors too,I prefer us all work together, it produces more positive results.
Thanks again, Nightserf.

Now you're starting to sound like Hitler. What about the peoples rights? Are you going to dictate what can be said and by who? Are you looking for an elite group of people only? Lets do just what you say and the result of it will be YOU also losing the priviledge of free speech and freedom of the press. Now i want you to have this post removed and prove my point.

I agree with NightSerf. And I'll back that up with the very first post, on the very first thread in the Topix Editor Forum...

"This forum was created specifically for our editors to use as a place to congregate and meet other editors. You can also use this forum to ask questions, share information, have discussions, and learn how to make your news page better.

Looking forward to hearing from you!"

Nuff said.

The new Feedback feature is great, wonderful idea!

But, no results occur from reporting. It is useuless to report corrupt moderator(s) when the report is going to the very ones you are reporting for abusing their position.

You have problems you aren't addressing and offer no avenue for the user to seek resolution.

You have options. If you dont like the way topix is run go somewhere else. You whining about things not going in your favor makes you part of the problem not the sulution. Topix has its hands full right now with the many law suits against them, We are going to sit back and watch to see if they are going to stand up for our rights or cave in like cowards. I say they will cave at your expence.

Hi there,

All Topix moderators are full time, paid Topix employees. You are likely confusing an editor with a moderator; editors have no ability to remove threads, polls, or posts.( http://www.topix.com/topix/faq#what_editors_d... )
