Mar 17, 2013 Full story: reuters.com 28

"People say what's going to happen when the Chinese and the Russians get this technology? The president is well aware of those concerns and wants to set the standard for the international community on these tools," said Tommy Vietor, until earlier this month a White House spokesman.

"Standard" for these "tools"?

There shouln't be ANY "Standard" or ANY "tools".

Just like the creation of the Federal Reserve, just a bad idea.

Obama set the precedent of violating nations' boundaries to murder their citizens and other residents without warning or any reason stated prior to the attack. Now, he's starting to realize that may not have been a prudent thing to have done. After all, it's just a matter of time before his enemies acquire the same technology. Then, who will be safe anywhere?

And drones won't be disappearing any time soon either.

That's America for you - play by your own rules until someone else starts playing, then whine and jump up and down and demand the rules be changed to benefit us and punish our "enemies."

That's why we always have enemies, and wars. Disgusting.

The only thing you "dropped" were your trousers, and that only so you could insert your head in your ass yet again.

Never indicated or implied it was.

Just a comparison.

OK
BUT...
Would a required SCOTUS signed warrant be an acceptable restraint on use of drones?

Yes.

Domestically.

I was referring to military use, it a bad idea and it will come back to haunt us on American soil or on the battlefield.

No President is perfect.
I am very opposed to the concept, but resigned to it temporary presence.
For now I would like to see the President have to justify each use before a critical authority that has the power to say no.

I am worried one of these things will malfunction and kill our own troops, fail or get wounded, fall into the hands of some of our enemies that could repair it or replicate it, arm it with some bad stuff and use it against our people and country.

Radar isn't sensitive enough to track one of these things.

"I would like to see the President have to justify"

I agree with that but the CIA, NSA, etc. doesn't need "critical authority".

In that realm, we would never even know if one had been shot down, let alone repaired and reproduced.
