It's evolving, much like our own. I mean, just look at our own trial system. We can't even pass laws or verdicts without crowds gathering in lynch mobs to subvert them. I hope I'm not lynched this week. It's just not worth the $10 a day and free coffee.

What do you think they should have done? Be happy with crumbling economy, shortages & more Islamists rule being imposed in society (which people don't want) & wait for 4 years to choose new leader for some change.

Democracy takes time.
I think Egyptian were right to do another mass protest to remove Morsi because they didn't have any other choice to remove him. Opposition was weak & there was no way to challenge the President's decision.

Only way to avert the current chaos & violence was for Morsi to resign & announce new election. But it seems he was too concerned about Muslim Brotherhood than Egyptian people.

Anyway, I think anyone in power will learn that they will have to follow the people's will from now on, and not their own or party's will if they want to stay in power.

In a Democracy you respect the outcome of an election. Egypt is no Democracy!

In the UK, if they screw up too badly - a no-confidence vote can be called and new elections scheduled.

You mean if any party wins election, they can enslave their entire citizen for 5 years until their term finishes. And citizen have to respect it?

The rule of law is the foundation of Democracy. Elections are legal. What happened in Egypt isn't.

Democracies generally follow the rule of law at home but tend to make up their own rules when venturing beyond their borders. At least, the higher ones up on the food chain do.

Very true. If they were to apply the rules of our legal system abroad, a good many would be sanctioned by the court and lose their licenses to practice, if not end up in jail.

I think Morsi's credibility as a democratic president was lost when he attempted to control unlimited power.

Anyways, what do you think Egyptian should have done then?
