Boehner wants Obama to release internal e-mail on Libya attack

May 9, 2013 Full story: The Washington Post 281

There was plenty of time for us to evacuate the Ambassador. An Admiral, and a General has been sacrifaced for speaking out against trying to save those people. This President is a disgrace. He has no experience in anything but community organizing, and rable rousing in the black neighborhoods of Chicago. Surely the founding fathers advised us on how to deal with someone so misinformed.

Looking at the timeline, what jumps out at me is that at 2:39 a.m.(Benghazi time), as ordered by Secretary Panetta, the National Military Command Center transmits formal authorization for the two FAST platoons to be sent to aid those in Libya; one to Tripoli and one to Benghazi.

The FAST platoon for Benghazi NEVER SHOWED UP. NEVER!

That is my most pressing concern. Why didn't they show-up??

Maybe it was the same reason the military didn't show up on 9/11 till way late in the afternoon. Maybe all the planes were in need of repair. Maybe the pilots got lost over the Atlantic Ocean for hours. Maybe radar doesn't work near Libya. Maybe those terrorists weren't wearing transponders.

We should get some answers. There was a 9-11 Commission that dealt with that terrorist attack, so it follows that an independant, bi-artisan commision should look at the debacle in Benghazi.

No. I can tell you did not read the 9-11 commission report. The mission statement says it will not look at what happened on 9/11, it will only focus on how to prevent future attacks. It never investigated what happened, but it is very telling that one of the first recommendations was that the military should not be ordered to stand down when we are under attack.

I do not oppose finding out what happened in Benghazi, but we also need a great many more investigations into the many previous attacks. We need an investigation into congress to find out why so many have abdicated their responsibilities to lobbyists, effectively creating a fascist government. The government is dysfunctional and I won't trust any investigation until it gets repaired.

The platoon didn't show up, because they were ordered to stand down. That order could only be given by the Commander in Chief who was trying to rest for a political fund raiser the following morning in Las Vegas.

Don't be that STUPID!!! A four man Platoon??? What quote, by what moron are you referring to? Carney? Clinton? Biden?

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency...

"On 11 September 2012, the Libyan consulate in Benghazi was attacked. The US Ambassador to Libya, J Christopher Stevens, and 3 other Americans were killed in the attack. Initially it was reported that the attack was conducted by protesters angered at a controversial film produced in the United States said to insult to Prophet Muhammad and Islam. While the film may have been the inciting incident, later reports suggested that the attack in Benghazi had been planned and coordinated at a higher level. Reuters, citing Libyan officials, reported that the attack might have been launched by Ansar Al-Sharia."

"Security was being provided by local authorities and private contractors. In response to the events, a 50-man platoon from FAST Company Europe was dispatched to Libya to provide additional security at various locations."
---------
A 50-man platoon you nitwit. 50-men, men who are the equivalent of Navy Seals, who were given the green light to go to Benghazi at 2:39 AM Benghazi Time and they never showed-up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9/11_Commission_...

"Findings"

"9/11 Commission Chairman Thomas KeanThe commission interviewed over 1,200 people in 10 countries and reviewed over two and a half million pages of documents, including some closely guarded classified national security documents...."

"After releasing the report, commission chair Thomas Kean declared that both Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were "not well served" by the FBI and CIA."

"In addition to identifying intelligence failures occurring before the attacks, the report provided evidence of the following:"

1) "Airport security footage of the hijackers as they passed through airport security"

2) "Excerpts from the United Airlines Flight 93 cockpit voice recording, which recorded the sounds of the hijackers in the cockpit and the passengers' attempts to regain control

3) "Eyewitness testimony of passengers as they described their own final moments to family members and authorities on airphones and cellphones from the cabins of doomed airliners"

"The commission also concluded 15 of the 19 hijackers who carried out the attacks were from Saudi Arabia, but found no evidence the government of Saudi Arabia conspired in the attacks, or that it funded the attackers.[2] Mohamed Atta, the leader of the attacks, was from Egypt. Two hijackers were from the United Arab Emirates, and one was from Lebanon. According to the commission, all 19 hijackers were members of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization, led by Osama bin Laden. In addition, while meetings between al-Qaeda representatives and Iraqi government officials had taken place, the panel had no credible evidence that Saddam Hussein had assisted al-Qaeda in preparing or executing the 9/11 attacks."
==========
It DID spend Alot of time on what happened; and it DID also make recomendations as to prevent future attacks.

Somebody told them to STAND DOWN; but I'm not yet convinced it was Obama. However, since it was Leon Panetta, the Sec of the Defense, that gave the order to deploy, it would seem that it would take a HEAVYWEIGHT to reverse his order.

Panetta does not have the authority to order troops around, or tell them to stand down. Only the President, their commander in chief has that kind of authority. Panetta has his job, and the C in C has his, only on Sept 11th, 2012 the President, for whatever reason, could not be botered to lead the troops. That is what these hearings are supposed to tell us, where was Obama? All this other stuff, the IRS spy story, the spying of the AP reporters are to try to get Benghazi off the front page, and off the minds of good Americans.

50?

From Europe?

How about next door.

At a contentious House hearing,Gregory Hicks testified on the frantic and confused events surrounding the attacks and the series of increasingly urgent calls he made and received at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, including one from then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the night and morning of the incidents.

Hicks was billed as a whistleblower by Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who titled the hearing "Exploring Failure and Recognizing Courage."

Hicks said he tried and failed to get the U.S. military moving to stop the attacks and rescue Stevens and the other personnel.

He said he was also rebuffed in attempts to send FOUR U.S. special operators from Tripoli to Benghazi to assist in the evacuation and the return of the bodies of the slain Americans.

No proof? No proof? You have to be kidding. The whole world watched Obama, and Holder lie like cheap rugs. It won't work any more. Even the Democrat journalists are turning on the lying, incompetent Democrats. It is so funny to see after all these years of watching them kiss Obama's black butt. Can't lie his way out of this one.

We all observed on 9/11 our military stood down. Now you are admitting the only person with the authority to do that was the president. You are saying bush ordered our military to stand down to allow the attacks on 9/11/2001. You are saying bush should have been arrested. You are saying bush is guilty.
