“MasterCard plays safety card”
http://www.afr.com/p/business/companies/maste...

“MasterCard’s global chief financial officer, Martina Hund-Mejean, says its PayPal clone “MasterPass” will beat any nascent threat from the online payment company because it is more secure.

“PayPal is nowhere close to what we are, we’re working directly with the people who issue all of these cards – and it doesn’t matter if it is a bank, or a retailer, or Google, or, quite frankly, PayPal, which also issues a MasterCard,” she said.…

Another interesting article (in “TheGuardian”) on the lack of security and protection for sellers receiving payments via eBay’s clunky “PreyPal”(or dealing with Bitcoins); you’ll love the many negative readers’ comments.

“Now At PayPal, Braintree Again Courts Startups By Waiving The First $50K In Processing Fees”
http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/06/now-at-paypa...

“… Now a part of PayPal following its acquisition, Braintree is at it again, only this time, that same offer is open to anyone as part of Braintree’s new Ignition program.

“The deal is the same as before: companies can begin using Braintree in order to accept and process payments on their website or mobile application, without having to pay fees up until the $50,000 mark. This makes sense for small, early stage startups, explains Braintree’s Chief Executive Bill Ready.”

Hmmm, things appear to be getting even more desperate at Braintree/PayPal. I wonder just how well “PreyPal” really is going? And, does Braintree share the same abysmal customer support that “PreyPal” offers?
