Jun 14, 2013 Read more: WLOX-TV Biloxi 20

President Barack Obama's decision to begin arming Syria's rebels deepens U.S. involvement in a regional proxy war that is increasingly being fought along sectarian lines, pitting Sunni against Shiite Muslims, and threatening the stability of Syria's neighbors.

Blame neoconservative. Omaba is neoconservative stooge. Alqaida, wahabi or salfis are US proxy and were created by CIA to destabilize middle east countries.
Before the Iraq war, every Iraqi identify himself as Iraqi but today as Suni or shia. US did same to Lebonon in late 70s, that is why they're devided into sectarians.
Another example look @ Libya??
In Syria, all people including Suni, Shia, chiristians etc have lived harmony in centuries. US want break down that life and handover Syria to 57 rebels that have opposing agenda. This were your tax being spent you dumb yankee

You're in the southern hemisphere and we're in the northern hemisphere and Syria is somewhere in between, so when we say we're on the right side of history, we really mean we're on the wrong side but it looks right to us because Syria is somwhere in between but we're definitely between a rock and our own hard head.

Please don't ask me to repeat that.

My country is making a big murderous mistake by arming the insurgents. There will be more bloodshed. And if arming the rebels don't help, I can see a no-fly zone approach coming soon. Russia has to stop this.

And we have now rewarded the insurgents with guns for refusing to attend Geneva talks. Is peace really a goal or destroying Syria to get to Iran the real goal?

yes but the other wars had become stale and uninspiring and banal for the Americans.
And became wound-down by mr 'nob'el peace prize' winner.
So the military-industrial complex needs a new excuse for tax-payer funded private mega-profit!
Their ring-whor does not like the cut-backs?

hmmmm - will the USA get involved to fix Syria the way it fixed Iraq? Maybe, war is good for the military-industrial complex and it's hangers on. Should we pay for our involvement with taxes or borrowing? If borrowing the 1% will get the principle of their bonds back with interest and sooner or later taxes or spending cuts will be proposed. Our involvement will push one or both sides to resent the USA.
So what can the US gain from intervention?

That's exactly the problem in America.

We have idiots like this raving about dems drawing us deeper into Syria, as if repubs are arguing against it. There's one party in America called the war party, with two separate factions.

Yet he still uses the opportunity. Too many idiots in both parties. Time for a third one, as if that'd help. LOL

People should think about it,who was it that said War is a Racket?its War PLC,every time a cruise missle goes off costing millions it has to be replaced, ask yourself who owns the corporations or have big stakes in them, you won't have to look far from your own Politicians, and its the tax payer that picks the tab up,i wonder when people will wake up from their living dead state of mind and see how they are being shafted on a daily basis by those Criminals.

Military-Industrial Complex Speech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
