Sounds like you know the family well. If so, you know that not all King's are created equal ! There's the good, the bad, and the ugly in all families. It is sad to say that sometimes the apple does fall far from the tree....as a matter of fact, it often falls, rolls under a rock, and rots !

It's the Adairsville Police Dept.. They're widely recognized by the local DA for putting together weak investigations due to improper conduct and widespread violations of protocol and constitutional rights. The story as I am aware, has been largely blown out of proportion by local sectionalist media. The suspect does not not have any family in jail and there is still plenty of financial assets that will further the defense and most likely result in substantial civil litigation against the City of Adairsville.

There aren't apples on the King tree, it's a money a tree with a strong wind. All they have to do is catch it. The King family is fine and will continue to be so.

Wait a minute...the suspect is going to pursue litigation against the City of Adairsville. I thought the mayor of Adairsville was a member of the King family.

Indeed he is, but that does not mean the family in question has solidarity nor does is absolve the city of its responsibility to respect the rights of due process, along with possible infringements upon a citizen's right against illegal searches and seizures. America fought a revolution over these principles, and quite frankly it is a growing percentage of opinion that has found the City of Adairsville Police Dept. to have become quite the totalitarian institution in practice.

On a personal note, and I try to prevent such from arising in public format: But the City of Adairsville has experienced an enormous economic collapse far greater than surround metro Atlanta cities have encountered. Most of this stems from direct action taken by local government to discourage economic development in the city. Without growth, employment is stifled and naturally crime rises. By self inducing poverty and crime, the need for a later police force is argued. Its a vicious cycle and its sad to watch that little town become the victim of an oligarchy which destroys capitalist investment to simply inflate government work. APD like many, have become jobs programs. I think we can all imagine that if there were better employment opportunities, Adairsville wouldn't have much "real" violent crime.

Until the meantime, we have to deal with invented drama and personal vendetta as it plays out masked by sensationalized terms such as "terrorism".

Wake me up once Mr King is exonerated and Adairsville owes him a couple hundred grand. Good grief.

Ha what a load of bull!!! His brother may not STILL be in jail, but he had a rough looking pic in the busted paper a week or so ago. Not sure about the nephew, but I know he's certainly not above breaking the law...You might be a lawyer, and you might like using all those big words, BUT you apparently know not what of you speak, because the Kings mentioned here are into all kinds of no good.

I certainly would not consider hiring her as my lawyer. Her grammar and mechanics are horrible.

The APD made a legal stop and search of the aforementioned case. The device was in plain sight and the offender was stopped due to prior felony charges pending from another agency. The explosive device placed not only those officers in immediate danger, but the general public as well as Mr. King himself. No matter whaat peoples "opinions" are about the King's, it wouldn't have mattered who would have committed the aforementioned crime(s) they would have met with the same fate. As was said before, the King's as every other family in this country has good people and bad people within their families. Mayor King I know is an upstanding man within this community and regardless of his connection to this situation it doesn't change the fact that a crime was committed, a huge disaster was potentially prevented and the proper and correct course of action was taken and everyone walked away safe. It is the duty of the APD to protect ALL the citizens and persons who live and travel through this city regardless of who they are and how much money they do or do not have. As far as the case and the DA's office, well there is substantial evidence and probable cause for the charges taken, and the experts with the Northwest Georgia Bomb Squad will be available to testify as to exactly what and how dangerous this device was. You people should be concerned that something like this was traveling within a vehicle through our county and commend the officers and APD for their efforts in safely assessing the scene and getting the situation handled in the most proficient and safest manner possible for everyone involved, moreover the innocent persons that would or could have been affected had the device detonated prior to it's interception. Great job APD!!! Kuddos to y'all and the officers who initially thwarted whatever this was going to be used for.

I'm curious where the thing came from. I read in the paper that sheriff wasn't going to investigate it all. If it came from somewhere in the county, it really bothers me that no one is doing anything about it.

Good job APD, btw.

It certainly did come from a location in unincorporated Bartow County and was en-route to another location within Bartow County, however no one at the S.O. seemed concerned with that "small" detail. Makes one say Hmmmmmmm? I'm positive that they (BCSO) along with other agencies (larger than BCSO, with bigger teeth if you get my drift) know EXACTLY where it came from and the other parties involved. They're just being obstinate for whatever reason. Maybe because they don't feel it's needed since it's not voting time. Makes me sick to think some Police based on politics rather than doing what is ethical and right in an effort to better serve us citizens of Bartow and the surrounding areas.

Well I know all parties involved and it wasn't a freaking pipe bomb! The dumb a$$ police went crazy cause for some reason he told them it was a bomb. It wasn't! It was a home made cannon that they would fill with gun powder and set off with no projectiles loaded into it. It made a loud boom and that was it. It had been fired hundreds of times without anyone getting hurt. Now you know the truth!

Guess you've seen the whole case file huh? You must've not read the part about having to fix the device once becuse it blew the back off. Don't guess you read the part where there were other detonated devices scattered around the yard of the residence where the device was constructed. And lemme guess, bet you don't own a law book or have looked up the definitions of a destructive and/or explosive device as the State of Georgia defines it? But hey, I'm comfortable with it if you are for him to be running around the county, admittedly under the influence of Meth, carrying this (as you call it pipe cannon) that could've been loaded with any number of projectiles (glass, rocks, nails, screws etc...) at a moments notice. Yeah, real safe for the citizens of the area to be exposed to that.
