I'm impressed by these clear words of wisdom. Finally someone has put common sense into words that all can understand (except of course frankie..). A must watch.
Have a great day...

So what you are saying is that the system that the USSR had and China had wasn't really communism? So what about the system currently in Cuba...would you consider that model communism?

Brilliant thread title!!

Of course it will never be over. You were warned.
If you invade a country, practically flatten it and then procede to occupy it for over a decade killing 100 locals for every american death of course it wont be over.

How would americans feel after 10 years of arab tanks in their streets. searches, utter disrespect for their lives. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy and your children and children's children would hate those occupiers for their entire lives.

Seriously what did you expect. You might have looked kinder if you'd just dropped a couple of nukes, although you couldn't have got away with making that look like a good thing, not a second time.

Such is the life of supporting an ARCHAIC and outdated religious philosophy that lives off the caliphate of submission or death...I suppose you are GOOD with what is going on in Syria right now as you sit idly by in your madrassa not doing a DAMM thing for the innocent thousands of fellow muslims that have lost their lives recently...criticize as you wish but for God's sake do something about the killing fields happening over there...or do what other muslim countries do best...nothing but watch and lay praise to allahs will...

One night, after his best ever game of golf and 19th hole celebrations, a man - who was in no shape to drive - wisely left his car parked and walked home.
As he was walking unsteadily along the road, he was stopped by a policeman.
"What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?" said the officer.
"I'm going to a lecture." the man said.
"And just who is going to give a lecture at this hour?" the cop asked.
"My wife." said the man.

Atheism is not a religion, it is way too simple for that. No need for temples, no need for a complicated philosophy no indoctrination. To you I’m atheist to God I’m the loyal opposition!
Fact is, everybody starts out as an atheist; no one is born with ‘believe’ in anything. Infants are born free of religious doctrine until we indoctrinate them relentlessly 24/7! I can’t help but feel sorry for people hanging on to an age old fantasy with such devotion or, at times, desperation.
Live and let live ...! Proselytizing, religious people do not know how to practice that!

Todays OBUMBLE-nomics NEWS FLASH
Obamacare ramifications...
Employers across America are dialing back hours for their part-time employees, as a presumably unintended side effect of the Affordable Care Act. The new health care law requires large and medium-sized employers (any with more than 50 full-time employees) to provide health insurance for part-timers who put in more than 30 hours a week. Rather than do that, many businesses are cutting hours, the LA Times reports. "It's the only way to survive ecoomically," says the CEO of the California Retailers Association.

The city of Long Beach, for instance, says that if it didn't cut hours, benefits would cost it $2 million a year, prompting layoffs and other cuts. Of course, the news isn't all bad for part-time workers; many will qualify for the law's new federal premium subsidies, or fall under its Medicaid expansion. Still, the hour dip is frustrating. "It is surely not the intent of the law for employees to lose hours," says one Long Beach employee. "It's ridiculous the city is skirting the law."

==========
Back to the 1880s
This is not the first time that America has looked as if it was about to succumb to what might be termed the British temptation. America witnessed a similar widening of the income gap in the Gilded Age. It also witnessed the formation of a British-style ruling class. The robber barons of the late 19th century sent their children to private boarding schools and made sure that they married the daughters of the old elite, preferably from across the Atlantic. Politics fell into the hands of the members of a limited circle—so much so that the Senate was known as the millionaires' club.
Yet the late 19th and early 20th centuries saw a concerted attempt to prevent America from degenerating into a class-based society. Progressive politicians improved state education. Philanthropists—many of them the robber barons reborn in new guise—tried to provide ladders to help the lads-o'-parts (Andrew Carnegie poured millions into free libraries). Such reforms were motivated partly out of a desire to do good works and partly out of a real fear of the implications of class-based society. Teddy Roosevelt advocated an inheritance tax because he thought that huge inherited fortunes would ruin the character of the republic. James Conant, the president of Harvard in 1933-53, advocated radical educational reform—particularly the transformation of his own university into a meritocracy—in order to prevent America from producing an aristocracy.

Can You Afford To Retire? Video
http://tinyurl.com/h8xdx
The baby boomer generation is headed for a shock as it hits retirement: many of them will be long on life expectancy but short on savings. The two main strategies for funding retirement -- lifetime pensions and 401(k)-style savings plans -- are in serious trouble. In "Can You Afford to Retire?" FRONTLINE correspondent Hedrick Smith ("Is Wal-Mart Good for America?") investigates this looming financial crisis and the outlook for middle-class Americans.(more)»
