I've been watching that new show on Animal Planet about the Sea Shepard and how they use terrorist tactics such as piracy (boarding ships) and using chemical weapons to stop other countries.

How is this different from known eco-terrorism groups such as the Earth Liberation Front?

It is no different then terrorist. Also WHales have been harvested for thousands of years, by humans. We humans are thier only natural preditors. If whaling is compelty stopped after thousands of years. Whales would ebcome extinct

"If whaling is compelty stopped after thousands of years. Whales would ebcome extinct"
Wait, what? IF whaling was to stop, then whale population might see a growth, not die out.
Anyways, yes, the Sea Shepards are nothing more than eco terrorist, especially the captain who is also a media hungry whore. I loved his reaction when he found out that the crew mates he sent to illegal board the whaling ship were "kidnapped." His reaction: Yay! Media whoring time!
Not to mention he planned to send four more of his crew to again illegally board a Japanese whaling ship which resulted in injury. And of course the "shooting."
I'm sorry, Watson makes me sick, as do the other Sea Shepards. I'm honestly surprised the Japanese hasn't really retaliated against them. I mean, yeah, save the whales, but if you resort to terrorism, then shame on you.

I say the Japanese should protect their whaling operations with the few naval ships they posses, providing convoy escort against these clear acts of terrorism. Any attack (in this case physical and chemical attacks) on a nations shipping by a group such as this is piracy/terrorism. Animal Planet needs to be warned and forced to take the show down, or fined/seized. If these ecoterrorist ships still try to mount attacks on Japanese shipping, fire upon them and sink their ships. Then search for and capture/exterminate any survivors. Those captured then need to be deported, imprisoned or shot. It may sound brutal, but in these type of situations, brutality is needed.

This really ticks me off..."Whaling Wars"..It's Simply terrorism..I have no tolerance for that kind of activity..The whaling ships have legal right to be there..
I came across this show tonite for first time...It takes alot for me to be pissed off and I am now...
Take the show off the air..Someone will get hurt or a ship will get sunk if they continue, throwing some type of acid at ship, are they nuts?...
It's just wrong on so many levels..I wrote Kellogg's an email tonite also..Sponsor of Frosted Mini Wheat commercial during this program that I noticed...

Is there a place where people can donate money to help the Japanese fishing fleets purchase RPG's(Rocket Propelled Grenades)?

Every one of the sea shepard's crew seems to have a extremely distorted view of their own actions. They believe everything they're doing, no matter how crazy or dangerous, is right course of action. They somehow can not see that their actions could very likely cause severe injury or death to the Japanese crew. I do not support whaling; however to put another human beings life in danger to defend a cause is just completely insane. If the goal is to "Save God's creatures" then find a way to do it with placing anyone in danger.

Japanese quota for whaling this year:
975 Minke whales.
20 endangered finned whales.

Whales have a slow gestation. It takes a lot of time to raise one calf.

At the rate the japs are stripping the ocean with high tech methods the whales will be completely extinct. They cannot reproduce fast enough.

The whaling commission is a failure and doesnt enforce crap and is obviously bought off and corrupt like any entity such as the FDA. If not the rules would be enforced within protected whale sanctuaries.

I fully encourage and support what ever it takes to stop these greedy [email protected] japs and their voracious appettites.

These whales have no other protection than the Steve Irwin crew. NONE.

If whale sanctuaries are open to slaughter then Put that Nissan Maru and its kill ships on the bottom of the ocean and I give a [email protected] if every crew member goes down with it.

The "peaceful" way no longer works nor does complacency.

Whale Wars is indeed a show glorifying eco-terrism. The only reason I can understand as to why these EcoNazis haven't been arrested is because they are targeting illegal whale hunting. Any whaling carried outside of sanctioned times and locations should be recorded and punished legally. Key word being "LEGALLY", not the extremist approach of this ignorant show.

Silverado's vulgar statements, probably shared by many extremists, reflect a lack of civility and intelligence needed to address their cause effectively. The only thing this kind of behavior does is galvanize opponents. In short, Silverado's comments may have actually swayed people into not acting against whaling.

The Sea Shepard crew needs to take it to the next level and sink the Jap Whaling Fleet. Load the ship with torpedoes not stink bombs.

It is butyric acid. You moron, it is non toxic! It is meant to disrupt the illegal activity of firing a high powered harpoon with an explosive head in to whales. Just imagine what it would feel like to have a harpoon with an explosive tip fired into you as you are peacefully swimming in the ocean and then imagine what it would be like to desperately struggle to free yourself from the harpoon as you drown in your own blood?

the people are lunatics and must be dealth with accordingly.

i read they rammed another vessel at sea which is a criminal act of aggression, terrorism and pure negligence.

whales are animals like any other animal that is hunted for food.

the japaneese actually hunt them in the most humane fashion and shoot the animal within 5 minutes of harpooing it.

maybe they can do a documentary on the indians in the US who harpoon whales then beat it with an ax for an hour.

how about the 1.2 million bow and arrow hunters who harppon animals everyday.

if theis sort of behavior continues the ship should be commandeered and towed away so that they do not harm others or themselves.

they are reckless enough and appear to be acting as "false flag terrorists".

they will eventually probably sink or harm their own vessel and blame the japaneese for public relations. that is what fanatical lunatics do.

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an eco-terrorism group.

I oppose whaling, but this group degrade the worthy cause they "fight" for.

Promote peaceful protests!

SEA SHEPHERD’S VIOLENT HISTORY

1977: Founding member of Greenpeace, Paul Watson, expelled from the organisation after a campaign against sealing during which he threw the sealers’ clubs and skins into the sea.

1981: Sea Shepherd claims responsibility for the sinking of the two whaling vessels, Ibsa I and Ibsa II, in the Spanish harbour of Viga.

1983: In retaliation for Watson’s arrest by Canadian police, animal rights extremists slash car tires and spray paint slogans on walls of buildings in the inner city of Quebec.“Fisheries Murder Seals” and “Set Paul Watson Free” slogans spray painted on the Department of Fisheries and Oceans offices in Keele Street.

1986: Sea Shepherd attempts to stop Faroe Islands pilot whale harvest. Using rifles, Sea Shepherd activists shoot at Faroe Islands police in an attempt to sink their rubber dinghies. The vessel “Sea Shepherd” was ordered to leave Faroese territorial waters.
1986: Sea Shepherd claims responsibility for the sinking of two whaling vessels in Reykjavik, Iceland, and for malicious damage to a whaling station.(This act of violence was carried out after Iceland stopped whaling in line with the IWC moratorium on commercial whaling.) Attack carried out by Sea Shepherd members Rodney A. Coronado and David Howitt.(Coronado linked to Animal Liberation Front and arrested eight years later by United States FBI for his part in an ALF attack on Michigan State University research laboratory. Charges included use of an explosive device, theft and arson.)

1991: A US crew member on a Mexican fishing vessel, reports that Sea Shepherd, some of whose crew were armed with rifles, rammed his vessel causing considerable damage.

1991: Scott Trimmingham, president of Sea Shepherd quits in protest.“We had rules about not hurting anyone, about not using weapons. I left because those rules and that philosophy seems to be changing.” Outside magazine (Sept. 1991). Paul Watson admits there are arms on board “Sea Shepherd”.“We confront dangerous people.

1992: Sea Shepherd makes unsuccessful attempt at scuttling the whaling and fishing vessel “Nybræna” at her moorings in the Lofoten Islands, northern Norway. Attack committed by Paul Watson, girlfriend Lisa DiStefano and one other Sea Shepherd member. Watson later states:“The scuttling of the Nybræna was not a terrorist or criminal act. We were responsible for removing an instrument of death and destruction without causing death or injury.” Charges laid against Watson, who fails to turn up in court. Watson convicted in absentia and sentenced to 120 days in prison.

1993: Paul Watson orders the crew on board the Sea Shepherd vessel “Edward Abbey”(formerly US Navy) to open cannon fire at a Japanese fishing vessel. Sea Shepherd crew do not carry out the order, but instead fire a shot across the bow of the Japanese vessel. The Japanese vessel does not stop.(Recorded by Yorkshire Television Documentary “Defenders of the Wild – Ocean Rider”.)

1994: Sea Shepherd loses observer status at the International Whaling Commission. IWC Secretary, Ray Gambell, declares that the IWC and all its member states ardently condemn Sea Shepherd’s acts of terrorism.

The FACTS are that 1) the Japanese are killing whales in A WHALE SANCTUARY! SANCTUARY that is. Get it? 2) They do it in the name of "RESEARCH" what other animal research group have you ever heard of who MURDERS the animals they are studying to supposedly help? If you murder your subject what is there to study and research? Stomach contents? RIGHT! 3) They cruz around the southern ocean murdering these animals (IN A WHALE SANCTUARY, remember it is a SANCTUARY) with a fleet of harpoon ships and a "factory" ship. They haul the whales onto the factory ship, butcher them and package the meat for sale right there on the ship!!!! Excuse me, what other animal research group have YOU ever heard of who packages and sells the meat of the animals they study? NONE. 4) Japan pays off countries to turn the other way and allow them to continue hunting. HUNTING that is, not "research". Japan has said they don't need to whale, they simply will not have ANYONE TELLING them they have to stop. I guess it's that saving face thing. RIGHT, that's it! These are FACTS. Well documented. Those of you who say the Sea Shepherds are terrorists, have you seen the video of the meetings with the heads of the countries Japan pays off? Check it out before you open your mouth again. Educate yourselves. Japan is so confident that by paying these countries off they will have no problem hunting whales in their SANCTUARY, that the representative for Japan is FALLING ASLEEP IN THE MEETING! He has no worries, they just write a bigger check. I applaud Paul Watson and the volunteers who risk their lives to stop the Japs.
The Sea Shephers ARE the whales only voice and defense. Bravo Paul Watson! If I win the lottery so I can afford to take the time, I will join you in the Southern Oceans. For now, I can support you by purchasing merchandise and voicing my opinion to the White House and places like this.
All I can say is Please, everyone, educate yourselves on what is really going on before you give Japan any support.
Thank you.

Lets go and shoot in the yellowstone park some balded eagles for research, lets kill the last black and white rhino in Kruger National park(currently happening Poachers) lets go and do this on land and see what theoutcome will be. Bottom line is the whales is so far away from people they do not care. Nice on paper the rest is bullshit one thing to make laws another to enforce them.

bottomline Whale wars brought the incidents to the world it wil keep Seasheppard in line with international treaties and laws as they are observed thus al to the better. International criminals vs Pirates who is wrong who is right.

Personally think the preservation of Gods earth and animals got priority we are entrusted with the earth and all who swim and crawl on and in it thus indiscriminate killing must stop.

Example 2001 200 000 jackass penguins in southern africa 2010 30 000 left not even hunted just not caring thus do we only want to show our kids whales on pictures?

Stop bitching squibling and arguing the world need us start acting this must be recorded for over 20 years from now we wil be thinking and reading back this conversations. empty handed and whaleless...
