I'm so glad my great-grandfather was one of the Black and Tans sent to uphold law and order during the IRA's pointless, failed terrorist campaign of 1919-1922.

agree, the mistake was made by the then British Government in ceding 26 counties of British Territory over to rebels. Today the actions of
those chattering class idiots still resound. It appears even then the British Government was going through a gelding process.
Please bring back the Black and Tans. Resurrect them if you can.
Tell them though to start in England first! Then work their way through the system.

They upheld law and order by getting drunk breaking into homes and attempting to molest women in the beds?

Or by murdering civilians watching a GAA match?

Law and order indeed.

Pick up some thugs off the streets in Britain, make sure they're ex-army, give them a black and tan uniform and there you go, they'll be resurrected....

The massacre of IRA terrorists at Croke Park was carried out by the RIC, not the Black and Tans.

So out of the mix of RIC, Auxilleries, and Black and Tans in Croke Park that day you want us to believe the RIC were the only ones who fired on the crowd?

When eyewitness accounts claim otherwise, British officers claimed otherwise, and British brigadiers resigned in horror at what happened.

14 innocent people slaughtered on that day in 1920.

Oh yes William Robinson (11 years old), Jerome O'Leary (10 years old), John Scott (14 years old).''Terrorists'' in your opinion??

The Black and Tans were outside. The RIC did all the shooting, according to eyewitnesses.

Maybe IRA gunmen in the crowd shouldn't have fired at the police?

More lies.....

There was no proof of any firing from IRA, or of any armed IRA even being present. As stated by members of the British security forces themselves.....

IRA gunmen disguised as civilians fired at the police from the crowd.

Not surprisingly the RIC had to return fire.

Is this thread from last year?
The anniversary of butchery by the Britiah Army on innocence which was to include 14 Irish Catholic innocent civilian executions and 26 shot and injured, was to have evilly occurred on 30th January 1972.
The anniversary, of Bloody Sunday, is the 30th of January.

Why are you so vehemently histrionic in your replies ? For all we know you may have a valid point ( somehow I doubt it ) but your unbalanced ravings always tend to obscure them. Give it some thought, amigo ; a viable point coherently expressed is always much more respected than that of a total tosser raving like a biased and prejudiced tosser !

Unbalanced ravings? Explain?

Oh like that time I gave you 3 coherent comments full of Irish history and you chose to ignore them instead reply to a comment you already replied to and then go off ''raving'' about the ''micks''? Saying for one ''Trust a Mick to wait for the right time to commit treasonous back stabbing''.

Its there for all to see, comment #24 from you on that thread seems quite prejudiced. Also my 3 posts explaining Irish history which went unanswered are to be seen on the first page of the thread.
