It seems that things are not an issue with you when the facts are proved to be different from your posts.
The fact is Terri Schiavo died because she was denied nutrition/hydration. The fact is she spent 13 days dying because Michael Schiavo decided he remember she wanted to die after receiving money from a jury based on his testimony that she would be living in that condition for years. The fact is that within months of receiving money for care and treatment, Michael Schiavo issued a DNR and refused medical treatment.

Knock yourself out with your minutiae. The main thing is Michael got done what he had determined to do. He has his legacy - a wife he starved/dehydrated to death - legally.

Yet another fact you tend to ignore. Michael Schiavo did not decide to remove hydration from Terri. He asked the courts to make the determination of what she would have wanted. They did that. And being Neo cortically dead, she never knew the differentce. You also ignore the fact that if Terri had died when she first collapsed, he would have still gotten the settlement. You also ignore the fact that thousands each day issue DNR orders, before, during and after treatment. Mr. Schindler did not order a DNR on his mother - he just pulled the plug in spite of the fact that she could have recovered, getting himself a nice little inheritence. She sure as heck never got a 14 years to recover like Terri did.

Terri was never going to "recover". Michael Schiavo made that perfectly clear in his testimony in the medmal.

I agree completely (isn't that a shock). Terri never was going to recover, it was a done deal. But sadly, Mrs. Shindler, Bob's mother, never got a chance to find out if she would recover or not. Funny how you not only cannot live without hydration, but you cannot live without oxygen either.

It certainly has proven to be the best fuel for your insanity!

In fact it seems to be the best fuel ever for the insanity of so many moon bat crazy nutters and lunatics in the Schindler fan club.

Seems as though the Schindlers attracted every nutcase in the country that really takes ghoulish and distatsteful pleasure from being proven wrong and proven liars endlessly and repeatedly.

The Schindlers were like a beacon of insanity. The flame that attracted so many lunatic moths. The lunatics that don't feel the disabled should have access to the courts. The nutters who- like the Schindlers- take the spotlight off Mrs Schiavo because they want the spotlight and the focus to be on themselves and their crazy opinions or on their money making ventures or on some cause or another.

The lunatics who think negligent doctors should get a free pass after destroying the life of a young woman who wanted to have a baby. The man hating lunatics. The lunatics who wouldn't afford the stricken any chance to recover or improve before life support was removed as quickly as possible.

The Schindlers reminded us all of just how much craziness there is in the world.

The Schindlers reminded us all that the nuts and the liars are waiting and lurking in the fringe of society and out at the very edge of civilized thinking just waiting for events to transpire that allow them to come out and proudly display what they've kept hidden and festering.

Negligent doctors having to pay for their malpractice? How horrible! Doctors should never be punished. They certainly should never have to pay for damage they inflict on patients or for marriages and lives and money making careers that are destroyed.

A woman who expressed that she wouldn't want to be kept on life support when there was no longer any hope for recovery or improvement? In America? Unthinkable!

Profiteers and opportunists emerging and taking advantage like distasteful ghouls forming money funneling foundations? Quitting their jobs and living off donations? Shocking!

Maybe we should all just stop talking about it.

Especially the honest discussions and the well informed discussions. Of course any discussion including facts should be stopped and stopped immediately. If you are educated, well informed and open minded go away now.

What these issues really require is fiction, internet meme, the closed mind and of course the tabloid consumer opinion and the tabloid readers perspective.

The determination of "any hope for recovery or improvement" was determined well before the medmal trial. If there was a promise made or a wish to be free of a feeding tube as life support, it should have been honored before convincing a jury that she wanted to live as long as possible in that condition.

Terri's wishes were not considered in that trial. Nor should they have been. That trial was to award damages for malpractice.

And since that is NOT what the unanimous jury was convinced of then what is your point?

Under the Florida malpractice law the only thing the jury needed to be convinced of for a win was that the doctors were negligent and that their negligence directly damaged her.

The Schiavos malpractice attorney made it very clear what the jury was convinced of and what the jury was convinced of had nothing at all to do with keeping Mrs Schiavo on life support until her heart would no longer beat in her chest or that treatment plans wouldn't change:

The lost lesson of Terri Schiavo

By GARY D. FOX

Published October 26, 2003

In November 1992, a jury in Clearwater returned a verdict in favor of Terri and Michael Schiavo for more than $6.8-million. The jury found that Terri had been the victim of substandard medical care that caused, in part, her coma. The jury also found that Terri was partly at fault and the verdict was reduced accordingly, to about $2-million. I was the lead trial lawyer for Terri and Michael.
Being the victim of "substandard medical care" has nothing whatever to do with treatment plans or the future. If anything the jury was asked to look to the past and the past actions of the doctors.

You will note that it says nothing about the case being won by Mr Schiavo or other family members convincing the jury that Mrs Schiavo would remain on life support until her heart would no longer beat in her chest or that the case was won because the jury was convinced that Mrs Schiavo would never change or that treatment plans would never change.

The case was won because the negligence of the doctors was so obvious that EVERY SINGLE JURY MEMBER of that unanimous jury was convinced that the doctors should pay for the damage they had done when they destroyed Mrs Schiavo and her life, her future and her marriage.

Then I will refresh your memory. Dr Harrison, the Neurologist said "Why do you let her live? She died four years ago" and he suggested (in Nov 1993) that Michael discontinue her feeding tube.

But in 1993 he was not prepared to take that step. It took his mother's courage in facing her death from cancer to let him see the truth.

Then he petitioned the court, taking the chance they might decide against him. He put the final decision in the court's hands.

Bob Schindler Sr gave many interviews where he voluntarily provided the public with additional information and his opinions and perspectives. Interviews he granted that gave the public great insight to his credibility, veracity and integrity. This is one of those interviews:

given the vehemence with which he has been fighting to prolong Terri's life, it is a little surprising to learn that Robert decided to turn off the life-support system for his mother. She was 79 at the time, and had been ill with pneumonia for a week, when her kidneys gave out. "I can remember like yesterday the doctors said she had a good life. I asked,'If you put her on a ventilator does she have a chance of surviving, of coming out of this thing?'" Robert says. "I was very angry with God because I didn't want to make those decisions."
What? No written advanced directive?

And only ONE WEEK?

That certainly gives a shining example for those in a rush to remove life support. It is perfect for those who would not afford the stricken any hope or any chance to improve or recover before quickly removing life support.

I suppose one could say "Not an issue to me. What's done is done. It remains a distasteful, ghoulish scenario of a 79 year old helpless old lady dying from suffocation when she was never terminal so her loving son could inherit her estate"

One could say such things even with no facts and no evidence to support it and one could say such things even after being confronted with a mountain of facts and evidence that disproves it. Of course one could say such things just because they have a personal, social, political or religious agenda to further.

Summary of the Terri Schiavo Tragedy
Terri Schiavo’s parents Robert and Mary Schindler were not concerned in Terri’s interest or wishes. Their concern was with Terri’s Medical-Malpractice (Med-Mal) suit award (1992) for their livelihoods and retirements. Both Bob Sr. and Mary Schindler knew Terri’s true unrecoverable condition from the same doctors that told Michael Schiavo. Robert Sr. and Mary Schindler testified in the Med-Mal court praising their son-in-law Michael for his devotion and caring for Terri. The Schindlers were surprised when they were informed by the court THEY would not receive any of the Medical-Malpractice (Mel-Mal) awards. Bob Schindler Sr. became very obsessed about not getting any of the Med-Mal awards. Bob Schindler Sr. approached Michael Schiavo in Terri’s nursing home room and demanded half of the Med-Mal award. Michael Schiavo rejected his demand.
The Schindlers next attempt would be to gain control of Terri’s Med–Mal trust fund and to do so they would have to gain control of Terri’s guardianship from Michael Schiavo (Terri’s legal husband). The Schindlers next campaign would be their character assassination and vilification of Michael Schiavo. The Schindlers petitioned the court for control of the guardianship. The court denied the Schindlers’ petition for Terri’s guardianship. The praising of Michael had been turned in alligations of Michael abusing Terri, causing her collapse,
I believe, had the Schindlers gained control Terri’s guardianship and after a reasonable period time, they would have come to a “revelation” that there really was not any hope for Terri’s recovery and have the tube (PEG) removed themselves. The Med-Mal trust fund would be theirs.
The Schindlers continued to campaign of Michael Schiavo with slanderous and libelous statements to the media, court and the public to make Michael give up and/or surrender the guardianship to them. Nevertheless, they lost all Probate court hearings and Appeal courts hearings.
The “Legal Fees” Donation Fraud
During this same period, the Schindlers were requesting public donations to help pay for their “legal fee” expense, which was already being paid by other rich foundations.
From the Terrifight.org Web Site http://www.terrisfight.org/ during the 2000 court battles:
“Terri’s Foundation is in need of financial assistance to offset the costs of legal fees. Visit our donation page here or write to us 4615 Gulf Blvd #104-103 – St.Petersburg Beach, FL 33706”
From the book “Follow the Money” by Jon B. Eisenberg, ESQ.

Currently all four of the Schindlers’s livelihoods and retirements are now being provided by those donations of possibility millions of dollars, which they are still requesting donations to their Terri Schindler Foundation and to which they are all employed. This was/is another fraud on these public, especially the donors.
The MONEY sure adds up…..and so did the donations.
Why was the Schindlers’“Terri Fight Foundation” requesting financial assistance with their legal fees (DONATIONS) with this kind of financial support already in hand?
What were the agendas of these rich foundations with this amount of money to hand out for the Schindlers?
With this amount of money and influence these FOUNDATIONS could have found and financed “real medical expertise” that could have helped Terri’s brain be regenerated, if that were a possibility. This was not a possibility being that level of medical technology and expertise does not exist. This may be true several years in the future with “stem cells” research. As of now, there was no help for Terri Schiavo.
The answer to these questions is, they were interest in the media coverage and “buying” of the leadership support of the Right-To-Life and NeoChristian Right and VOTES of the RTL, RR, CC, etc. and for the NeoPower Right (George W. Bush & Co., GOP, etc.).

I came on here because my Sons life seemed so parallel to Terris to me. I was looking for answers, help, any knowledge I could get to help me , help my Son. I had Doctors telling me my Son was brain dead for six days. After that I had Doctors telling me my Son was in a vegetative state. This being told to me for several months. After that, I had Doctors telling the court that my Son should stay in his wifes home left alone to die in peace. These court appointed Doctors spoke with his wife for 15 minutes, Didnt look at his med records, Didnt speak to anyone else, and determined she was taking care of him. "let him Die at home" they stated. I hired a Doctor who obtained all his med records and challenged said Drs of the Court in St pete. My Dr. found that his weight loss of approx. 50lbs was not due to his anoxic brain injury, and those 6 stage 4 bedsores, also not part of it, and the 7 infections throughout his body, also not part of it. But that he was being neglected and abused. Starved. Those so called experts sure amended their findings! Took em 15 minutes to change their feelings! I had dozens of specialists siding with the wife! Not wanting to open their eyes to the truth until it Smacked them in the face. My Son has Zero wounds. He weighs 125 lbs. And is starting to talk. My sons story is true life. Not your fantasy world and judgment of Terris parents. I heard it all about me too! So I know how they feel.

But Joanne, all cases are different. You stepped in at the beginning and fought for your son.

Michael Schiavo did that for his wife. He fought with the doctors and insurance company and got her therapy and even experimental surgery.

And the parents were content with what he did, until at least four years later when he became convinced there was no hope for recovery. And even then it took another four years before he petitioned the courts for a decision.

Very different and over so much more time. Fifteen years is soooo long compared to the time your son has been disabled.

BTW, I hope your son continues to do well :-)

But that he was being neglected and abused. Starved. Those so called experts sure amended their findings! Took em 15 minutes to change their feelings! I had dozens of specialists siding with the wife! Not wanting to open their eyes to the truth until it Smacked them in the face. My Son has Zero wounds. He weighs 125 lbs. And is starting to talk. My sons story is true life. Not your fantasy world and judgment of Terris parents. I heard it all about me too! So I know how they feel.
The Schindlers bought medical opinions also. They also got opinions from doctors that had never read the medical records or taken a history or seen or touched Mrs Schiavo and that had never even been in the same room with Mrs Schiavo. The Schindlers even had a doctor diagnosing Mrs Schiavo from the floor of the senate.

This latest version of your story is interesting but you still left a twisted and angry trail of other versions in all your previous posts such as this one

I think it is interesting that you make a lot of noise about bad doctors with wrong opinions but then admit you could find a doctor willing to sell you the medical opinion you wanted and that you purchased a medical opinion and the doctor you purchased it from gave you exactly the medical opinion you paid for. You even admit that you used the medical opinion you bought in a court case.

Which is worse? The buyer of lies or the seller of lies?

Which is worse? The liar or the person who shops for and buys the best lie they can find and then uses it?

You complain about the system but then admit you tried to scam the system with a bought and paid for medical opinion.

I suppose one could say it makes you some kind of hero that you would do or say anything to get what you wanted or to "save" your son but on the one hand you claim your son needed saving from bad medical opinions and on the other hand you admit to buying ONE opinion that went against all the others.
