Tea Parties Biggest Taxpayer Protest Ever

Apr 14, 2009 | Posted by: GAPatriot65 | Full story: www.newsmax.com

More than 2,000 so-called tea parties are scheduled to take place around tax day this week, representing the biggest taxpayer protests ever, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, tells Newsmax.

Income tax rates have not been raised since Bill Clinton was president, and President Obama’s tax increases take effect in two years.

95% of America is getting a tax cut. That is a fact. Why are you people too stupid to understand that?
"You must be happy knowing you are secure in your job and your employer can continue to pay you."
If my employer couldn't pay me, it wouldn't Obama's fault anyway, it would be the bad economy that he inherited.
How do you not understand that?
95% of America is getting a tax cut? HIGHLY UNLIKELY...at least in the long term. There are NO FACTS OR EVIDENCE THAT SHOWS 95% OF AMERICANS ARE ACTUALLY RECEIVING THEIR TAX CUTS! Show me the evidence...there is none. The news is not evidence. My family works in the news business. It cut, edited, and packaged for ratings, not for facts. The little bit a facts they include is just enough to say they are honest...enough.

So, it's not 95% and it will be short-lived when Obama's adminstration needs money for something. Do you think they are really going to tax the rich more and lose all that support? Don't make me laugh! The fact of the matter is, we will continue to pay more and more taxes. If not income taxes, than higher other government mandated taxes. They cut your income tax to make you feel better but then raise them somewhere else (democrats are notorious for this). Sure, we'll cut your income tax, but we'll raise a sales tax, or gas tax all under the guise of saving the planet or building more fuel efficient structures.

Really, you people can't really believe the government is going to cut your taxes and not find a way to get it back? Do you really believe that? DO YOU?

That's how a representative democracy works. You must have just cut school entirely. If you want anarchy, go live on a desert island with other volunteers. If you don't like the way your representative votes on your behalf, work to put someone in who will please you. If you don't like the way my representative votes on my behalf, tuff titty.
Representation does not equal satisfaction. You really think we would still be British controlled if we had representation. Probably not. We would have still fought for our independence...maybe not quite as soon but it would have come.

only 60 some odd percent of americans pay taxes in the first place. if you don't pay taxes and then you get a "tax cut" its a wellfare check. and it isnt just obamas fault you are right. its the fault of every one of our elected officials that buys thier vote with added wellfare and government programs. tax dollars shouldn't be used as charity.

Please name one small business that is cutting payroll because of Obama, and not because of the recession that Obama is trying to fix.
You are getting the causes confused. The banking industry fell down when Bush was on guard, they couldn't give out loans, so some small business couldn't pay their bills. What does that have to do with Obama? Please answer the question.
Where did I state there is ONE FACTOR behind it and that is Obama? The point being the extra taxing on small businesses is hurting many small businesses so to overcompensate, they must cut back on spending...now why have 2 secretaries when you can "get by" with having just one on the payroll. My physical therapist office for one, ask the receptionists there. The point being, yes we are in a recession but taxing small businesses is NOT the way to help that situation and in fact exacerbates it.

Your claim that less than 1% showing up to tea parties means that "the citizenry doesn't like how congress and the president is representing them" is proven false by Obama's approval numbers and the fact that the number of people who now believe the country is headed in the right direction is higher than it has been for years. Doing nothing to stimulate the economy, which is what I gather these tea parties are about, will only allow make our economic problems worse. Companies don't create jobs when they get tax cuts,(haven't you been paying attention the last 8 years?) they create jobs when they have more customers spending money which requires more jobs that the companies won't create so the government has to. The "cut taxes to create jobs" people need to explain why with the lowest taxes in modern history we have seen a net loss of jobs in the last 8 years.

Exactly.
Some people are hanging from the puppet strings and have no idea.
Who is going to get a tax increase?
$250k+ earners.
Who tried their best to defeat Obama with rumors?
$250k+ earners.
Who supported this tea party, and funded it's advertising?
$250k+ earners.
Who has the means to trick people into believing Obama is out to get everyone?
$250k+ earners.
Who actually has the power to change things in this country?
$249k- earners.
Who tends to follow more, has lower education, and is susceptible to trickery?
249k- earners.
You really don't understand the difference between gross income and net income, do you? Do you even know which Obama is proposing to tax?

Their laying people off and controlling their profit margin.
After paying already bloated taxes all year and again at years end they don't want the Government swooping in and sharing in their profit.
Most of these business owners have suffered losses the last few years.
Will Obama be there to share in their losses as well as their success?
No.
The most ridiculous thing is many of these people being laid off are STILL blaming ONLY Bush.

Since you are a liberal who knows everything you might be able to help me answer a question. Who passed the "Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002"? Now I know it is the war cry of Democrats and Liberals that Bush caused the war in Iraq, but could you please explain to me how Congress is the only branch that may authorize use of force or declare war but you credit Bush for declaring war against Iraq? Considering the fact that Congress was a democrat majority at the time of "Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002" could please enlighten me where you get the notion Bush is to blame? Thanks in advance.

Now I will concede that almost a trillion in debt in 90 days is extraordinary, but these are extra extraordinary times.
What is extraordinary is that we have a congress and a Presidents that are spending dollars like drunken sailors. Bush was BAD. OBMAMA is BAD.
This is not a partisan issue this is an WE CANNOT AFFORT IT ISSUE!! The working taxpayers are saying NO! Stop spending!

I would love to take their jobs.
The funniest thing is that even if they get a tax increase, they are still going to make way more money then they would if they took a job with less pay, so the argument that taking that tax revenue will make them quit is ridiculous. Unless of course, they throw a tantrum like a child would.
Example:
You make $300,000 a year...your taxes go from 30% to 35%...you lose $15k
Or
You quit and take a job at $249k..and your tax rate is 30%...
you lose 210K(300k@30%)-174k(249k@30%)= 35.7k
Only a spoiled brat would purposelessly earn less money so that the government gained less revenue.
It's not going to make the BOSSES quit, it's going to come out of the pockets of the entry level workers and so called "little people". Good grief, do you really not get this? Or are you just pretending not to? What you call "spoiled brat" most call "business savvy".

If you're not angry about what your elected (BOTH PARTIES) officials are doing and have been doing, you're just not paying attention. I just find it peculiar that there is so much anger (or is it fear) because some of us are excersizing our rights to speak out against what we don't believe in. You're welcome to do the same and you probably did so in the past. Geesh, why are you so threatened. I didn't give a rats behind when there were protests for issues I didn't agree with.

Are you out of your mind? The top 2% get TAXED the most!!! My guess is you have never even looked at the top percentage of the tax bracket. Fundementally cruel? You can't be serious...it's called "part of the job". Do your job as president well and you are a hero, do it not so well and you are a "villian". It's not a difficult concept and if Obama couldn't take the heat, he shouldn't have put on the apron and stepped into the kitchen.

Jane, if you really believe that, then why do you care? Why do you spend so much time on this board convincing us that we are a minority and these protests are meaningless. If you truly believe it, let it go and enjoy the day knowing that you are in the majority, you are righ...instead of pecking away at the keyboard about how meaningless our actions are.
