I'm seeing all this discussion and all the polls regarding interracial dating and interracial sex. It's not just here, it's everywhere these days. I'm a divorced white woman who has never dated a black man...BUT, I will have to admit that there really is something exciting about the thought of actually going ahead and doing it. I'm womdering how people - white and black - really feel about it. Is this still a serious social taboo, or not Ya know if u like a person no matter what race they are go for it, the thinking of what people think is so stupid and why should u care its your life it's just an Ignorance of thinking
i have a black boyfriend he's sweets and he was my friend for many years b4 we hooked up, he makes me happy, sure we get the looks mostly from white guys and old peeps and black girls but who cares, but don't make it sound like something noveau and bad, good luck

What is it that you would find exciting exactly? I am a white male, I have no issues at all with the interracial sex, personally, from a guys point of view, the sex side of it, is the interesting variation of the colour of each persons skin as one slides into another that I thin is HOT

I think that such taboos are pants.

My love is the most precious gift of God to me and she is of a different race, country and culture from me...actually I would say she is unique from anyone on the planet...

All i have to say is there is defenitely a lot to dating a black man...

At first a bunch of people really looked down their nose at me, but then they realized he was a sophisticated young man. Not a "hoodlum". In a situation like that you have to be very careful, and be ready for stares and whispers. After breaking up and moving I decided to have a fresh start. To this day I have not told some of my friends I once dated a black guy, even though they probably wouldn't judge me, there are sterotypes. If you are really concerned with other's opinions you should hold off

If that is what you want then you go for it. Don't worry about what others think. It's your life and you run it like you want.

Men who complain about interracial dating I notice tend to be the type that even if they where the only man on earth , they would still die a Virgin

This may sound weird, but I think that if you do choose to date interracially I think a person should choose a match. Like say someone whose physical features can closely relate to theirs and even there skin tone blend in together. That's what I think anyway. To me it shouldn't look like Julia Stiles and Mekhi Phifer in "O". She looked better with Sean Patrick Thomas in "Save the Last Dance. I think you should find someone you blend in with. That's just my weird theory though.:)

I don't think there's any taboo about interracial dating anymore.

At least if you count Hispanic - Non-Hispanic couples as interracial - then half the couples in Chicago are interracial.

And even if you don't count that - a whole lot of couples are still interracial.

I don't know how things are in North Carolina, but up here nobody would even notice.

My folks come from the Philippines, and EVERYBODY from their homeland is interracial (a mix of Asian and White)!

I have been the first black man for many white women to date and experience sexually which is why all of them still date black men till this day.
i love me some white women...lol
Just to be fair here... what do you think about black women that date/love/marry white men? What I have seen, is that there is a big double standard... Black men that absolutely hate the ideas of a black woman with a white guy...

I always thought that it was pretty much ONLY the White Guys and the Black Women who EVER had ANY problem with interracial dating.(And just some of them at that.)

But what do I know, I'm an Asian dude.

Why shouldn't they have children?

Hybrids are stronger. Genetic diversity is an advantage.

That's why pure-bred dogs spend more time at the vet's office then mutts do.

Yes. Absolutely. It's taboo to date Klingons, androids, etc. If they are members of a race allied to the Federation or are friendly towards 'Star Fleet Command' an exception is made but fornication should not take place indiscreetly.

There is still a "taboo" label in many parts of the country in terms of interracial dating. I travel often and see it in many areas. If it makes you happy then go for it, people in general accept it but there will always be racists around in some areas.

If you want to date IR, then do it!

There are some things that come up when you are with someone of another race. But overall its not a big deal around here and I have dated mostly black men since college. Recently, I was shopping with my man and a store person asked me if I was being bothered. I am a professional white woman but the store man must have thought my boyfriend was some kind of black thug because of his braids and tattoos. Maybe we didnt look like we belonged together. We just laugh about these things. My man can be physically intimidating but he is sweet once you know him. Once you get past appearances, the relationship issues are the same.

Funny. I could say the same about white boys sometimes. To each their own, I guess.
