I am always amused when people ask what harm same-sex marriage will do to normal marriage. They may as well ask how the mating habits of ferrets will harm traditional marriage. That is, both questions are red herrings.

The real question is how same-sex marriage would change the culture and values of Western civilization. The acceptance of same-sex marriage is really an abandonment of Judeo-Christian moral values and the tradition upon which Western civilization is based.

So, what would be the new values of this new civilization? Is it really something that would be desirable?

We are being led into unknown and uncharted territory. Same-sex marriage, and the moral implications that it carries with it cannot be predicted, because it is based on no known historical tradition or example except, perhaps, that of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Are Americans really willing to abandon their culture and their history for something so alien to their worldview?

So far, in the places it's legal, it hasn't changed a thing, other than providing legal recognition and protection for families.

Face it, Charlie, the ONLY reason that you don't want the "harm" issue address, is because you know there is none.
