Some women have problems orgasming, but it isn't anyone's fault. If you can orgasm through masturbation, you've won half of the battle already. If that is the case, have your husband watch you masturbate sometime. He can't participate at all...just watch. He can see what it is that you do to get yourself to orgasm and try it himself. Regardless, if you want to keep this marriage intact, you'd better get honest with him.
I think a lot of the problem is that women put so much pressure on themselves to orgasm. The more pressure you put on yourself, the less likely you are to be able to orgasm.
That reminds me of an experience with one of my first serious girlfreinds when I was 20 ... she had tremendously strong orgasms when I used my hand or tongue, but we were together several months before she could orgasm during intercourse ... sometimes we'd go for almost an hour and still no luck.

Of course, if I had my current amount of experience I would have known to try several other techniques .. for exmpale get her orgasming first and enter while she was doing so ... this gives the psychological feeling that the orgasm happened from the intercourse. Or, use my fingers on her clitoris while insde her, and actually move the penis only minimally so that her orgasm comes mostly from the familliar feeling of the hand....

Or, try different positions to discover the one that hits her g-spot ...

I wanted to cheat on my husband so I decided to get it out of my system and took my girlfriend up on an offer to attend a swingers party. Let's just say it was quite the orgy. I must have had 20 to 30 different cocks inside of me and couldn't tell which one came in me. I was so fucked out it took me weeks to recover. Since then, I never had the desire to cheat. I'm all cocked out.

Yes, many women don't orgasm vaginally. I do, but I have no idea if it is because I make sure attention is paid to my clitoris and breasts as well, or if it is just the penetration. I've never wanted to find out either :) My best orgasms have always been when nothing is left out.

god where to start.
dont give up your husband. for this its not worth it.
now i will give you alittle in site that most women seem not to know about a good guy.
when you get with a guy you think hes going to rock your world .then you find he does it the same way as evey other guy. and has no idea what you need or want and is happy and done when he gets off. your only half right he has no idea what he is doing and never has and never will. unless you let him know and he does care alot about getting you off. im 33 and have been with a few ladies and married twice so i know a little but guess what i know now i knew nothing.
thanks to other guys and porn. right now my boys are getting the age where we have have the talk. but i dont want to give it to them cause i know i will just say the same crap that was told to me. lets see you know where babays come from yes dad. good now all ways use a condom and if you get her preg you got to take care of her. know thats the good stuff. but wait does it end there yep did for me. so lets see now i watch porn and see a guy with a 10 to 12 inch one bannging the hell out of this hot women. and she is yelling in joy what did i get hmm i feel bad now cause i think im small cause im not 10 and it must be true cause when it did happen she didnt yell so what did i do wrong .she didnt say to the left a little or ya right there or not so fast slow down.
but what did she say ohh yea it was good so now im left thinking that i must have done it right. wrong wrong years later same thing .you want to get off try this tell him what you like. if you like it he will like it thats what matters. tell him what you want .lead him to your heaven then you both will be happy. and for what i have learned after all these years her it goes.
it takes a good woman to make a man feel like a real man .so come on gives us a clue before you give up on us.

That's a touching story about marital strife. You should send your story to Dr. Phil.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I think "Dont Give Up On Him" hit it right on the head. I am looking for the excitement we had when we first got together 18 years ago and it is not just his fault. I am just going to spice it up myself. Just ordered some new lingerie from Fredricks and some good videos/toys from Adam & Eve. This will be a good start. If this doesn't work, I will be back on for some spicy suggestions. Thanks everyone for your input!

Having an affair with someone else would be one of the worst ways to solve your problem. Men that have affairs generally are selfish men -- not good candidates to help someone like you.

My wife and I were married for 13 years, both of us in our 34th year. She had never had an orgasm and we assumed it was not possible. I got this notion that I would like to experience what it is like for my wife to be the one in action instead of always me. So she got on top, facing me, with her knees under her and started "humping". After a bit I noticed that she got really interested in what she was doing and got quite energetic, bearing down on my penis. After a little longer her face changed and she was gasping. We soon learned that she could have multiple orgasms (20 at the most)and to date I'm sure she has had more orgasms than I have, though she got a late start.

It is a bit of a challenge for your husband to hold back and for that reason it does not work so well to wait too long between lovemaking sessions. Kind of pull back so his penis rubs on your clit and just do what feels good, including kind of twisting around and some sliding in and out, but mostly rubbing on your clitoris. It commonly takes my wife 5 to 10 minutes to climax.

It took this guy 13 years to try a different position with his wife? He's a regular crowd pleaser !!!

Cheating is for lowlifes. If you cheat on me, I would hope you have the respect to tell me upfront so you dont DRAG A PERSON ALONG when you are not 100% committed.

I cheated on a boyfriend, and he forgave me and wanted to work it out. But I felt so guilty I couldn't even have him look at me without wanting to die.
Since then I have cheated on others, but I have never said anything, and if they knew they never acted that way.
However, if I were married, I think it's a lot different and I wouldn't cheat. I would like to think by the time I get married, I found someone I really love and won't need to look somewhere else.
How many guys have you cheated on? Did you feel guilty every time or just the once?

I've cheated on my bf before... 3 times.
I traveled a lot in my previous job and usually was the only woman with a group of guys, not an excuse really.... my bf found out about one about a year ago, i ended up confessing after i felt like he knew.. we're not the same since. i would never tell him of the other times.

Confessing to make yourself feel better is unfair to the person you cheated on and they will never feel the same way about you afterward. Obviously it's a bad idea to cheat, but if you have slipped, don't make it worse by making your partner feel bad from your failings.

interesting. Im sure there are people that would feel completely opposite. but your statement makes sense to me. better to carry the cross alone.And... not do it again!
