I've always preferred darker haired girls to blondes, I prefer dark eyes too. And although I'm not really attracted to black girls, a nice olive skin tone is much preferred over a pale girl, and I prefer short girls to tall girls. I find something about Asian girls in particular very attractive - even before I ever met one in person (I'm from a little town in Britain where 99% are white). The personality claim is therefore redundant as I never knew there was a cultural personality difference at the time.

Recently I moved to Leeds, and ended up becoming friends with a girl from Thailand, and her personality is in fact FAR from docile, she practically raped me within a week of me knowing her - though for it to be rape I'd have had to have not enjoyed it ;-).

I also went out with a Japanese at one point, I'll admit she was quite docile, and one of the reasons that the relationship was so short lived was because I found it hard to communicate with her due to her shy, quiet, and withdrawn attitude. My god she was gorgeous though :-/.

The reason that tall, leggy, blondes are portrayed as the most attractive is purely an American invention. A lot of Germans and Scandinavians emigrated to the US in the early 1800s, and as a result there was an abundance of blondes. America exploited blondes as a reason for the English to holiday, or move, to America - due at this point British and American relations were still bad due to the wars in the 1770s, and 1800s. You may in fact have realised that there are far more blondes in America than there are brunettes, whereas in Britain - though we obviously do have blondes - they are outweighed three or four to every one by brunettes.

This culture in the US of praising blondes as the desirable female continued until it actually became something that is basically implanted into their minds during growing up. And once inventions like the TV came along, when Britain and America were linked visually, the trend came over here as well (though definitely not to the degree that it is in the states).

I think it's safe to say that we are told who is desirable through the constant media obsession with leggy blondes, and during growing up when you're most impressionable, being told that blondes are the most attractive girls will stay with you. If you were not exposed to much of that, for instance your family don't really care much for 'Heat' magazine and the like, then chances are you'll be brought up with the ability to think for yourself.

If you have any arguments or qualms with my post then feel free to use google before attempting to prove me wrong. There is enough evidence on the internet to prove that I'm not, try not to get distracted by porn though, eh ;-).

Hawk, I think you need to accept that everyone is different, and just like I prefer Indie music rather than happy hardcore - that doesn't mean that others don't. The same thing goes for girls, we all have our preference, be it black/white/asian/Hispanic/fat /thin/tall/short/big tits/small tits/big bum/tight bum/blonde/brunette/auburn/or bright fucking ginger. We're all different, and I think you need to grow up and realise it.

I pretty much agree with you .. so many women grow up wanting to change their hair colour before they even turn 10. Several of my daughter's freinds had put in green and blue streaks before they were 12 and my older daughter put in (more tasteful) blonde streaks when she turned 13 ... after a year of constant haggling.

Yet, as I grew up I always felt myself attracted to the things that were NOT what the media was pushing us towards, so I was always attracted to dark haired women. Show me several women from behind (so I do not see race) but only hair colour and I will always choose the non-blondes first.

Let me share with you my opionion from a Whiteman perspective who has been with White women and Asian Women. Not all Asian women fit the sterotypical picture you wrote here.
