On a recent holiday to Austria, in the mixed nude saunas, I noticed that all the men had their foreskins completely covering the head of the penis.

I'm uncircumcised but my leave my foreskin retracted, this is its most comfortable position. In the UK, I would say that around 25% seem to leave the head uncovered, only 10% or so have a completely covered head and the remainder have some of the head uncovered (usually just the end). Made me wonder whether protocols in Austria are different about retraction.

I've opened this thread to prompt a discussion about :-
- Ladies, what are your preferences?
- Do you think some options look better?
- Does it make a difference to you in sex?
- Are protocols different around the world?
- Are there reasons why men seem to have longer foreskins and more foreskin coverage in some countries?

P.S. A plea to the fanatics from the circumcision threads not to swap this thread with their views.

Many Thanks

As far as the length of the foreskin... it's just a simple genetics thing. Everyone is different, and while some cultures seem to have more common lengths, everyone is unique.

I'm personally 'fully covered' and cannot keep it pulled back if I tried. Maybe it's also because I have a 'looser' foreskin instead of a tight fitting one.

I've noticed that most Asians also have a shorter foreskin.

...just a few thoughts.

Hello David:

I'm pleased to see that you've started a new thread "out in the open," so to speak, so that others may see it and participate in the discussion.

I don't really have a preference. I have been a nudist for many years so I am accustomed to the appearance of genitalia. I enjoy the appearance of a penis regardless of whether it is cut or uncut. I enjoy the fact that there can be so much variety in length, girth, and presence (or absence) and amount of foreskin. An exposed glans can be just as attractive as a penis with a long foreskin covering the head. So as for apppearance, it's all good, but given that foreskin is so unusual to see in the U.S., I'd give it a little edge because it's so exotic for American women to see. For that reason, if a man has not been circed, I prefer that he not denude his penis, but leave it in its natural state.

Some of my bf's have been circed; others not (mycurrent bf is cut). Honestly, I can not feel the difference when I'm getting f*cked. During oral I could suck on the foreskin and pull it forward with my lips, so the foreskin was fun to play with as it was when I would masturbate his penis for him and engage in foreplay. But overall, it's not that important to me for sex.

Not sure about international protocols. But as I posted previously, we have been to many saunas, spas, and nude beaches in Germany. Circumcision seemed rare. At several saunas, my bf was the only male without a foreskin on his penis and he told me that did make him feel a little uncomfortable at first. The European males seemd to have, on average, fairly ample, if not long foreskins.

One of my past bf's was born in Asia, and his forskin was fairly short and was often naturally retracted even when flaccid.

Sure, a lot of women particularly in the USA will say they prefer cut. Think you would get a more balanced view from elsewhere where circumcision is less common. Not sure if women prefer a penis where the foreskin is rolled off the head, or covering it?

As I stated above, if the foreskin is still intact I prefer that it not be rolled back, but that it be allowed to remain in its natural state.

Hi again Diane

What is it you prefer about an unretracted foreskin? Its not that I think there is anything wrong with them but I would have assumed that a woman's instinct is towards exposed glans, i.e. as it would be for sex.

I assume that part of the reason many US women say they prefer a cut penis is because they (wrongly) think of an uncut one as fully covered by skin, with a tight overhang of skin at the end (like a boy), hence hard to pull back and damp and smelly when pulled back.

In reality, most uncut men have some or all of the glans exposed and a dry clean glans.

Hi Diane

Don't know why you describe covered glans as "natural position", for me retracted is the natural position.

During puberty I would struggle to keep the foreskin covering some of the head. I remember being on a pedalo boat with my sister and every cycle of the pedals moving my foreskin. I got an erection so then my foreskin was wanking back and forwards, She would not have been aware but it was still awful for me. Erection when sitting next to my sister - gross!!!! I think it must have been a seminal moment in realising I was fighting a losing battle with my foreskin.

Sorry. poor choice of words. I shouldn't have assumed that "extended" is "natural" for everyone.

I guess I like the "extended" look because it is so unlike what we usually see in the US. It is different. It is exotic.

As a long time nudist, I have long ago learned to dissociate nudity from sex. So the appearance of a glans or a retracted foreskin would not in my mind be associated with sex. My foreskin preference is not driven, per se, by any association or suggestion of arousal.

Does that make sense?

Yes makes lost of sense and actually, the fact that you are not saying foreskin = gross (and in fact quite the opposite) is refreshing from someone from the US.

I think if women knew that rape is less prevalent in men who have their forskin intact, and in countries where male genital mutilation is an uncommon practice, they might think differently about our culture of male genital mutilation.

Don't find it gross at all. To the contrary I thiink it can be quite beautiful. I recall seeing a photo on the internet somewhere of a group of males, a supposed college men's swim team, all tanned and in the nude, sitting and standing at pool's edge, all of whom had foreskins (they were all actually porn actors I think, but that's beside the point). I showed one of my girlfriends, and she found them quite attractive too.

well david, my bf has foreskin and his naturally covers the head. guys dont have a choice whether they want it to show or not, unless they are hard and people walking around the beach should not be hard. men having longer foreskins has nothing to do with where they are from, its just who they are. the problem with foreskin is that men have to be very careful with it. they must wash it very well, just like a women would with her vagina. the bad odor is exactly the same for both male n female. men with NO foreskin dont really have to worry about this problem but jerking off must be really hard if they dont have lube around.

Think your point is partly true. A minority of men like me can't kepp their foreskin covering the head even when flaccid. Similarly, I believe a minority can't stay retracted without it rolling back up. However, I think the majority with a foreskin length in the middle of the range can choose to keep it in either position.

Another thing to add on this subject is that a woman who has had a circumcised boyfriend tends to give better handjobs. Women who have only known uncut men, tend to pull the foreskin onto the head and rely on moving the foreskin back and forwards. Women who have had cut boyfriends (not as common here) tend to not rely on the the foreskin which I find preferable.
