Push to delay cut in parent payment
LABOR senators say proposals to reduce the payments of 100,000 single parents should be delayed until Senate committees report on whether the changes would breach human rights, and on the adequacy of the Newstart allowance.

Once a child is 6 he is in school and after school care is provided at a smaller fee. A parent should be able find employment. Budget cuts will have to be made.
