if the property and building is "already" paid for by the tax payers, "O.K.",. if not, just another ripoff by the county leaders looking to get kick-
back!!!!!!!!!!there is alot of road work around this co. that is not being done, but yet,Bean ask the taxpayers for money for property when he is not useing the property he has. it does not take a math professor to figure this one out!!!!!!!!!

On this, I totally agree, I miss Ben Jones, you would see him on the roads all the time, looking at bad spots and having them fixed promptly. There were more "back roads" fixed under Ben than anybody since Trent, back in the 70's! Now lets get Bean out of there next election!

I totally agree with "Lonestar"!! I personally know Ben Jones and he was the best superintendent of roads there was. This guy we have now is a sheet hole. There are several roads right now that need repaired and haven't been touched. There is a place I know of right now where the whole road has been washed out due to flooding. There needs to b someone in office that gets the job done instead of sitting on their arses doing nothing. There's a place on Hwy11W right b4 the 4way intersection in the business district, that if u don't get over into the left lane it will jar ur car enough that it will knock it out of alignment. That's just laziness. Taxpayers pay enough on the wheel tax to have the proper repairs made. This patchwork BS isn't cutting it. Having to dodge holes so u don't make damages to ur car is down right ridiculous and uncalled for.

The only way to get Bean out, is to go and vote. I heard a woman may run against him. She has an engineering degree and can run any kind of heavy equipment the county has. I have never seen our roads in such bad condition. Instead of spending money on more property, he needs to get out and see what is going on in our county and fix these roads that are falling apart.

Start taking ALL car repair bills and drop them off at his office. If you haven't had your car fixed, go get an estimate.

Fix the Roads or/and Fix All broken cars.

This has to be the sorriest road superintendent I have ever seen why don't they spend money fixing the roads in Hawkins county rather than build another shop for all of them to set their lazy butts in... Its pathetic you can't even drive in most places without hitting a freaking pot hole.

All this criticism surprises me. I lived in two other states, and the roads here are much better.

Isn't he the one that wrecked several vehicles on his own time, costing the county money.

"Truth Hurts" Are u talking about Ben Jones? He was a great road super. If he wrecked any vehicles I never heard it. Yes, he doesn't have a license now but that doesn't have anything to do with his ability to do his job he has in the past. He's getting up in age and his driving isn't the best now but in the past he done everything that needed to b done to get the roads fixed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Commissioners took out the requirement of an engineering degree for the position of Road Superintendent so that Ben Jones, who had about 20 or so years work experience on the road crew could run for superintendent. You all need to approach your Commissioners and have them reinstate this requirement. Bean will then be legally unqualified. Then get your asses out and vote for a qualified superintendent not a retired book binder.

And yes I also personally knew Ben Jones and I also believe that he was the best Road Superintendent there was. Bean has not touched my road since he got in office. Homeowners have had to cut downed trees, clear culverts and grade the road to even out some of the pot holes. You can only use cold patch so many times before the holes never fill up.

I remember when I lived across the mountain back in 93. That snowstorm that hit knocked out the power for 2 weeks. Snow was about 2' deep in the road. Ben got his tractor out and cleared enough to drive his old truck back and forth on 66 picking up people and driving them to Ben's store to get smokes. We got around on horseback. Nothing could get over the mountain. No mail, no nothing. Ben did what had to be done.

Go ahead disagree and call me clueless you obviously didn't know Ben like most of us knew him.

Yes, these cases usually comes down to looking at whoever owns the parcel that they end up buying. Nearly always someone that's related to someone, and you can bet that you-know-who will be the real estate agent representing both parties.
