To Leno, it's guilty until proven innocent

There are 19 comments on the Los Angeles Times story from Oct 5, 2007, titled To Leno, it's guilty until proven innocent. In it, Los Angeles Times reports that:

“Have you heard this? The Phil Spector trial is deadlocked 7 to 5 on the murder charges. They [jurors] were confused by something in the case. Yeah, I think it's called evidence.”

Iknow that O.J. Simpson is guilty of the crimes he's accused of committing in Las Vegas, just as I knew he was guilty of murdering his wife and her friend in 1994. via Los Angeles Times

O.J. Simpson was innoccent of the murders of those people and anyone who says different needs to be sued for slander. He was found innoccent in a court of law and that's the end of it! Racists insist on his guilt b/c he's black for there is no evidence to support these ridiculous claims. Who is most likely the guilty party are those two cops who were on the scene BEFORE the regular cops were. Standard operating procedure is that a regular cop goes out to the scene first and calls a detective IF NEEDED! These two cops Vanatter and Furman were there BEFORE the regualar cops got there. in fact they met them at the door! They were there to plant evidence after they murdered those two! So grow a brain and look at the REAL evidence rather than your racist sentiments!

I have to agree. The biggest thing that made me think that he was innocent (not the only one) was the bloody glove evidence that showed that the glove could not have shrunk enough to not fit O.J.'s hand.

Once again Reality displays the mind numbing wit of an embittered woman. Because surely what applies in one case applies to another, barring stupid details like concrete evidence.

You're really dense about comparisons here sidf'loonius.

In these rants, an OJ supporter is as loony as the MJ supporter.

But, I expect that explanation to fly over your "haid" again.

Man this is a BIG ass can of worms. NOT MANY on either side of this issue is going to see anything but WHITE OR BLACK..I mean if you are said to be innocent in a court of law but in a CIVIL case you are guilty ( which was a mercy ruling to right what others BELIEVE was a wrong)...it goes TO SHOW YOU once again that our judicial system is VERY FLAWED. I would say just as flawed as the ideals of a majority of the american people. Our system has NEVER been innocent until proven guilty...Not in teh real sense of things anyway..LOOKS GOOD ON PAPER THOUGH....

You've never seen a wet glove after it dried. I always have mine cleaned when they are dirty or get wet, for that very reason.

With regard to his being guilty or not, he was proven guilty in the second trial. And, most of his attorneys thought he was guilty...they were playing the defense game for lots of money. Listen to what Chris Darden has said and his personal experiences with the defense attorneys.

The LA cops stunk..screwed up. By the way, where are any indications that he has tried to find the killers? And, how in the world can he try to make a business out of two murders? He should find the killers and then write a book.

This man lived a white life in any way he could and got all the perks of celebrity. No way do I think he was the poor black man with the world against him. Even now he lives a life of wealth and celebrity. Don't feel sorry for him and he hasn't done one real thing to help the poor black man. Using the race card in this case worked against the poor black man.

There is NO SUCH THING AS A RACE CARD. It is a poor excuse to defend a situation displeasing to you. Race became a factor in a number of ways, but Mark Furman tipped the scale. If he was so guilty why did Mark feel the need to plant evidence. And even before this trial MARK FURMAN was a known Racist. Now is that what you were referring to as a RACE CARD?
The judicial system is FLAWED here in American. You cannot be guilty in one court and guilty in the other. It is illogical. It happened YES...but it was still ILLOGICAL. bUT THAT IS THE AMERICAN way. Hypocritical to the end..

Yes, the glove was planted. Does that make you happy. How bout this one, he was guilty and Furman was a racist. BTW, the race card is used often..sometimes it is a valid point. Not with OJ and those that
support using it with someone like OJ, just wants Blacks to go scott free instead of wanting justice for each individual. OJ's using it just diminishes the general publics understanding of racist. He is the exception, he got off because he was black.

Race card is simply another made up term as usual. It is a way for White Americans who disagree with racial conotations to feel better about the real issue of racism. OJ got off by being proven not guilty. he was guilty in civil court. just another example of the HYPOCRITICAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. Black had very little to do with him getting off. The actions of another who was a racist HELPED...but the evidence just did not hold up.

OJ got off because he had the money to buy a good attorney. He does not represent the black man in the system. It is a shame that the blacks don't realize it...for it would prove the point that most blacks don't have what he did...GOOD REPRESENTATION. He didn't have that in the second trial..the two sides were "even," so the truth won out.

Yes he could hire an expensive attorney who managed to deflect the devastating charges away from his client, but the truth we all know is that he did indeed kill those two people. He had motive, opportunity and his alibi was no good to anyone with any sense. All the circumstantial evidence says so. In any city but Los Angeles, he would have been convicted and jailed. That is the problem with your "diversity". It clouds your decisons because you are afraid to say a black, brown or yellow man did it. The Los Angeles people do not recognize justice when it presents itself.

He was FOUND innocent...the jury could have been a bunch of morons. Nobody will ever really know if he did it or not, we weren't there. get over it.
